KILTON AND KENNEY RETURN FOR LIGHTWEIGHT FIGHT AT NEF 46

[NEF PRESS RELEASE]

Portland, Maine (November 22, 2021) – New England Fights (NEF) returns with its next mixed-martial-arts (MMA) event, “NEF 46: Decade of Dominance,” on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at Aura in Portland, Maine. The event will commemorate NEF’s ten-year anniversary. The leading regional promotion launched on February 11, 2012. Earlier today, NEF announced the addition of an amateur lightweight bout to the fight card. Cody Kilton is scheduled to face Kaleb Kenney at a fight weight of 155 pounds.

Cody Kilton (1-1) notched his first win in his second amateur bout at “NEF 44” last August in New Hampshire with an impressive technical knockout over newcomer Cam Hoyt (0-1). Kilton came up short in his NEF debut back in 2019 when he lost to former featherweight title contender Brandon Maillet-Fevens (3-2). Kilton, who has competed at 145-pounds for his previous two outings, will bump up in weight to face Kenney on February 12th. Kilton trains under John Raio at First Class MMA in Brunswick, Maine.

“I can’t wait to go out and put on a show for all of my family, friends and all of the NEF fans,” Kilton stated. “I plan on going out there bringing a full set of skills and showing every one I've been working to become well-rounded while always looking for a finish.”

Kaleb Kenney (0-1) will make his second walk into the NEF hexagon on February 12th. Kenney made his MMA debut last August at “NEF 44.” That night, Kenney came out on the losing end of a spirited performance against Isaac Piette (1-0). The fast-paced fight had the Hampshire Dome crowd on its feet. Kenney trains under John Parker and represents Team Nitemare located in Jonesport, Maine.

“I’d like to thank Cody for jumping up a weight class and taking this fight, much respect, and I’m looking forward to getting in the cage with you,” Kenney stated. “I want to let everyone know—you’re not going to see the same fighter in the cage this time. In my first fight I kind-of froze. I got nervous. You won’t see that this time. I’m stepping in that cage ready to unleash a whole different animal. I don’t just want to win, I want to finish. I want to kick this guy in the head, take him down, punch him in the face, choke him out, whatever I got to do. All respect to my opponent, but he’s standing in the way of something I want and I’m coming for it, whatever it takes. Everyone’s got a plan until they get punched in the mouth, and I’m going to ruin every plan he’s got for me.”

“NEF 46: Decade of Dominance” takes place on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at Aura in Portland, Maine.  The event will commemorate NEF’s ten-year anniversary. Doors open at 6 pm with first fight at 7 pm.  Tickets are on sale now at www.Ticketmaster.com.
