📰TEASER--📰 NEF 47 'THE BATTLE OF L/A--5/14/2022

New England Fights is back this Saturday for their 47th show to date.  This one is sure to be sold out with an action packed 17 fights fight card.  The show will be taking place in Auburn Maine at the Norway Savings Bank Arena.  The first fight is set to start at 7pm so don't be late like we were last show!  There are 10 amateur fights in which includes 1 title fight.  Then the main card has a total of 8 professional fights to wrap up the night.  NEF has done a great job at keeping the full fight card intact.  Warchild and I have the hotel booked and plan on making the trip up north to cover the event for you all.  This show is completely sold out so if you want to watch it online, here is the link here.  Let me break down the fight card for you all.  This will be the exact fight order of the night.

In the first fight of the night David McCarty will be taking on David Burke at 185 lbs.  McCarty trains with Titan Athletics and he comes into this fight with a 1-1 record.  He won his 1st fight by ko/tko and then lost his 2nd fight by rear naked choke.  This will be his 3rd NEF event that he is fighting for in a row.  His opponent is David Burke and he trains out of Nostos.  He will be making his amateur debut.  This should be a great first battle to kick off the night.

Next up is a battle at 135 lbs between Tyler Parent and Nate Dorr.  Tyler trains with CMBJJ and comes into this fight with a 1-1 record.  He lost his first fight by arm triangle and then won his 2nd battle by  ko/tko to strikes.  His opponent is Nate Dorr and he trains with Acadia BJJ.  He will be making his amateur debut.  I see this one being a ground battle.

185 AM Joe Peters 0-1 (Karasu Tengu) vs Bryant Wade 1-0 (Titan Athletics)

At 185 lbs Joe Peters will be challenging Bryant Wade.  Joe lost his first fight by decision against Lee McHugh at a previous Ammo event.  His opponent is Bryant Wade and he trains with Titan Athletics.  He comes into this fight with a 1-0 record with his 1 win by a ko/tko in just 32 seconds.  I see this one being a back and forth stand up battle.

140 AM Cassidy Bedard 0-0 (CMBJJ) vs Michelle MacDavid 0-0 (Defensive Edge)

At 140 lbs Cassidy Bedard will be squaring off against Michelle MacDavid in one of the 2 female bouts of the night.  Cassidy trains with CMBJJ and she will be making her amateur debut.  Also making her debut is her opponent Michelle MacDavid and she trains out of Defensive Edge.  We will have to see how this one plays out!

Then Chris Strout will be taking on Julian Sirois at a catch weight of 140 lbs.  Chris trains with First Class MMA and comes into this fight with an 0-1 record.  He lost his first mma match against Jake Smith waaaay back in 2010 at Premier FC 1 which yes I did see way back then!  After a 12 year layoff he is back in action.  His opponent is Julian Sirois and he trains out of Vision Quest.  He will be making his amateur debut.  I think this one will be a stand up battle.

At 135 lbs Felipe Gunter will be defending his title against Billy Markle.  Felipe trains with First Class and comes into this fight with a 4-1 record with 3 submission and 1 decision victory.  His 1 loss came by a decision at Battle for Barre event.  His opponent is Billy Markle and he trains out of Nick Catone.  he comes into this fight with a 4-1 record with 1 submission and 3 decisions wins.  His 1 loss came by submission back in 2015.  Once again, on paper this fight looks very close.  I see it being a ground battle and also going deep into the rounds.

145 PRO Aaron Hughes 1-2 (Regiment) vs Anthony Vasta 0-1 (Defensive Edge)

For the first pro fight of the night Aaron Hughes will be taking on Anthony Vasta in the 145 lb division.  Aaron trains with Regiment and comes into this fight with a 1-2 record with 1 win by ko/tko.  For his losses, he lost 1 by ko/tko and 1 by decision.  His opponent is Anthony Vasta and he trains with Defensive Edge.  He comes into this fight with an 0-1 record with 1 loss by decision to Nathaniel Grimard.  If you have been keeping up with the NEF press releases here then you know this one should have lots of fireworks.  I see this one being a slug fest and someone will be getting knocked out.

155 PRO Carl Langston 1-6 (Independent) vs Zenon Herrera 1-8 (Independent)

At 155 lbs Carl Langston will be challenging Zenon Herrera.  Carl is an independent fighter who comes into this fight with a 1-6 record.  In the win column, he has his 1 win by submission against Zac Richard.  For his losses, he lost 2 by ko/tko and 4 by decision.  His opponent is Zenon Herrera and he is also an independent fighter.  He steps into this fight with a 1-8 record with his 1 win by decision.  For his losses, he lost 2 by ko/tko and 6 by submissions.  I see this one being a ground battle and it will be the battle of the independents!

At 150 lbs Nathaniel Grimard will be taking on Andrew Provost.  Grimard trains with Nostos and comes into this fight with a 1-0 record with 1 win by decision over Anthony Vasta.  His opponent is Andrew Provost and he trains out of Robert Hugus BJJ.  He comes into this fight with a 1-0 record with his 1 win also by decision.  This is another close battle and I see it being a ground battle.  I also see this one going the distance.

115 PRO Glory Watson 2-1 (Young’s MMA) vs Natalie Schlesinger 1-0 (Driven Gym)

At 115 lbs Glory Watson will be taking on Natalie Schlesinger in the last female showdown of the night.  Glory trains with Young's MMA and steps into this fight with a 2-1 record with both wins by rear naked choke.  Her 1 loss came by submission at Triton Fights.  Her opponent is Natalie Schlesinger and she trains with Driven Gym.  She comes into this fight with a 1-0 record with her 1 win by decision.  Both of these women are trying to make a name for themselves early in their professional career and no doubt they are going to bring it.  I see this one being a close battle and really could go standing or to the ground as both of these ladies are very well versed.

At 170 lbs Ryan Sanders will be taking on Mark Gardner.  Ryan trains with Vision Quest and steps into this fight with a 18-9 record.  In the win column, he has 3 ko/tko, 12 submissions and 3 wins by decision.  For his losses, he lost 1 ko/tko, 1 submission and 7 by decision.  His opponent is Mark Gardner and he trains with The Academy.  He comes into this fight with a 2-2 record with both wins by ko/tko.  For his losses, he lost 1 by doctor stoppage and 1 by ko/tko.  This is a really tough fight for Mark Gardner in my eyes but he loves to take tough fights so it should be fun to watch.  I see this one being a slug fest.

At 165 lbs Jesse Erickson will be challenging Matt Denning in the main event.  Erickson trains with CMBJJ and steps into this fight with a 10-8 record with 2 ko/tko and 8 wins by submission.  For his losses, he lost 6 by ko/tko and 2 by submissions.  His opponent is Matt Denning and he trains with Denning MMA.  He comes into this fight with a 5-12 record with all 5 wins by submission.  For his losses he lost 8 by ko/tko and 4 by submissions.  Both of these fighters used to train together for a long time so this will be awesome to watch.  I see this one being a ground battle.
