📰 NEWS--📰HEAVYWEIGHTS WILL BE DROPPING BOMBS IN BANGOR GRUDGE MATCH

[NEF PRESS RELEASE[

Bangor, Maine (September 27, 2023) – New England Fights presents its next mixed-martial-arts event “NEF 55: Glory Days” on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor.  Earlier today, NEF announced the addition of an amateur heavyweight bout to the card.  Miles “Ice Viking” Emery (1-1) will go one-on-one with Abdul Keita (0-1).

Miles Emery made his amateur debut in Bangor earlier this year at “NEF 51” with a first-round knockout win over Cody Dular (1-2).  Emery returned to action this summer at “NEF 53” against Adolfo Bedolla (1-0).  After a wild first round of throwing bombs back and forth that saw Emery put Bedolla down at one point, Bedolla was able to pick up the win by technical knockout.  Emery will look to get back in the win column against Keita to close out the year.  He represents Titan Athletics of Brewer, Maine and is also a proud member of the Maine Army National Guard.

“I am so excited to be back fighting in Bangor,” said Emery. “Bangor feels like my hometown. The crowd is always sold out and energetic. I love the venue. I look forward to fighting Abdul. He talked a lot of trash, called me out on Facebook and has been absolutely disrespectful. He wanted this fight bad, and I say ‘be careful what you wish for’ because it’s not going to be a fun night for him. This is going to be a fight and it’s going to be brutal. Hopefully he trained hard so that it will be a good show for everyone.

“I am so honored to be fighting on Veterans Day in front of fellow vets, it’s definitely going to add a lot of excitement to the night. This is an honor I don’t take lightly. I can’t wait to show out on Veterans Day and get back into the win column. You will see a new and improved Ice Viking, but still the same excitement when I get into that cage.”

Abdul Keita stands at a towering 6’6” tall. Like Emery, he also made his amateur debut last February at “NEF 51” in Bangor.  In one of the most exciting rounds in the NEF cage this year, Keita weathered an early storm from Charles Sullivan (1-0) before unleashing a barrage of strikes on Sullivan and nearly finishing him.  Keita went on to lose the fight via technical knockout, but he won the respect of the crowd for his toughness that night.

“I’m excited to be back fighting in Bangor,” said Keita. “I know this will be another epic event!”

“NEF 55: Glory Days” takes place on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at Cross Insurance Center in Bangor, Maine.  Doors are scheduled to open at 6 pm with first fight taking place at 7 pm.  Tickets to “NEF 55” are available now at www.ticketmaster.com.
