AFO Press Release With Updated Fight Card!!!

AFO just released another press release hyping up their fight and it has the updated fight card..check it out below.

"On Friday September 16th, the American Fighting Organizations returns to the Wonderland Entertainment Complex in Revere, MA for an evening of mixed martial arts featuring the region’s best fighters.

“We’ve got some excellent prospects on this show”, said AFO President Pete DiLorenzo, “including the pro debut of Ricardo Georges and fights featuring several of his teammates at Team Pradal Serey located in nearby Lynn.”

In the main event, pro debuting Ricardo “The Water Buffalo” Georges will meet veteran Ralph Johnson (5-4, 5 KO’s) in a welterweight bout. Georges, originally from Gonaives, Haiti and now living in Malden, MA, is a graduate of Revere High School who was named runner-up for the Boston Herald’s “Amateur Fighter of the Year” award in 2010, with most of his fights in the 2010 Promotion of the year, The AFO.

Georges will look to take his skills to the pro ranks against Johnson, a colorful fighter from Worcester, MA who last appeared in an AFO cage in July sporting pink and blonde hair while knocking out Brockton’s Shawn Baker with a perfectly placed Muay Thai knee to the head.

Undefeated amateur Dicky White (3-0) leads an impressive team of warriors from Central New York MMA into battle on September 16th.  White’s opponent has yet to be confirmed, but his teammate Chris Tier will see action against BMAC’s rising star Nathan Oses, as will CNYMMA’s Gene Lang when he steps into the cage opposite Lowell, MA’s resident destroyer, 4-2 Joe Cloutier of Doomsday. Joe has had all his fights inside the AFO and this is the 3rd weight class Joe has fought in as he prepares for the Pro ranks.

Ricardo Georges’ Team Pradal Serey teammate Louis Torres will be in action against Mike Hulburt in the welterweight division.  TPS’s Matt Doherty and Xavier Vargas will be in separate bouts as well. Doherty will take on hot prospect, 2-0 Kody Nordby.  Nordby, fresh out of high school, is a phenom at 18 years old, but Doherty, a veteran of the amateur ranks, will no doubt be Nordby’s toughest test to date.  This one has turned into a bit of a grudge match as verbal jabs have been exchanged recently between Nordby and the TPS camp.  Nordby has been the poster boy of AFO in the summer of 2011, but Doherty seeks to end Nordby’s momentum as the summer comes to a close and has all the tools to do it.  Xavier Vargas will meet Tyronne Tillman of CNYMMA in what should be a stand-and-bang slugfest at 205.  Melrose, MA’s Vyacheslav Phinney will take on former two division AFO title challenger Sergio Cabrera of BMAC, and top-notch wrestler Nick Logan will take on Team Pradal Serey’s Dan Connaughton who will be making his MMA debut."

The fight card to date is as follows:

Ricardo Georges (TPS) vs. Ralph Johnson
Louis Torres (TPS) vs. Mike Hulburt (Ultimate MMA)
Christian Rivera vs. Fred Mandracchia
Xavier Vargas (TPS) vs. Tyronne Tillman (CNYMMA)
Nick Logan (Doughboy) vs. Dan Connaughton (TPS)
Gene Lang (CNYMMA) vs. Joe Cloutier (Doomsday)
Kody Nordby(Allaire) vs. Matt Doherty (TPS)
Vyacheslav Phinney (North Shore) vs. Sergio Cabrera (BMAC)
Nathan Oses (BMAC) vs. Chris Tier (CNYMMA)
Tunde Odumusu (TUML) vs. Nick Kossivas
