Bangor, Maine (May 23, 2013) – Today New England Fights! (NEF) officially kicked off the mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion’s “Summer Vacationland Fight Tour” event schedule by announcing “Nations Collide: Canadian Invasion” on Friday, July 12th, at the Darling’s Waterfront Pavilion in Bangor, Maine. The show will mark the first of its kind ever to be held in Bangor.
“We’ve combed the northeast of the United States and all of Canada to secure some of the top talent available for this show,” stated NEF promoter and co-owner Nick DiSalvo. “We launched one of our most serious scouting expeditions to date to assemble these fiercely skilled and patriotic athletes that are determined to represent their respective nations with courage, ferocity and honor on July 12th. There’s nothing more American than an outdoor summer show in Maine around the 4th of July – come out and see what all the buzz is about.”
“Since it’s inception, we’ve promised to bring NEF’s brand of MMA to every corner of the state so that every Mainer has the opportunity to experience the world’s fastest-growing and most exciting sport in a live format,” stated NEF matchmaker and co-owner Matt Peterson. “By bringing NEF to Bangor we are once again breaking new ground. We made an early pledge to mixed martial arts fans that we would innovate with every event and July 12th will be no different.”
“Nations Collide: Canadian Invasion” is set to be held at Darling’s Waterfront Pavilion. The open-air amphitheater is constructed each summer inside Waterfront Park in Bangor, Maine. Waterfront Park is a 58-acre public park on the Banks of the historic Penobscot River in the heart of the downtown district.
