NEF 24 6/18/16 TEASER

New England Fights returns this Saturday with another mixed mma and boxing event.  There are a total of 16 fights including 3 that are pro mma and 5 that are pro boxing.  To save some time I am just going to breakdown the mma portion of the night but the pro boxing match ups are found below.  The doors will be opening at 6pm and the first fight is set to start at 7pm.  At 6:50pm NEF plans on showing of a very special tribute of the Ali-Liston fight. If that isn't enough to make it to the show then don't forget about the NEF ring girls who will be there and would love to take a photo with you all!  This NEF event will not be streamed to their Youtube it will be with their new contract with FloSports at flosports.tv.  In order to watch it you will have to sign up and view on the website.  Another cool thing I would like to note that for the first time that I can remember there are 4 members of the Bang family, the father and 3 sons.  Ah-mazing! Let me break down the fight card for you all.  This should be the final fight order.

190 PRO BOXING Steve Collins, Jr. (7-0-1) vs Jose Humberto Corral (19-21)
154 PRO BOXING Casey Kramlich (4-0-1) vs Zenon Herrera (0-1)
HWT PRO BOXING Vinnie Carita (11-1-1) vs Francisco Mireles (17-10)

155 AM MMA Steve Bang Sr. (CMBJJ 1-1) vs Stacy Lupo (Shatterproof 0-0)

The first fight of mma is at 155 lbs between Steve Bang Sr and Stacy Lupo.  Steve trains with CMBJJ and comes into this fight with a 1-1 record.  He won his first fight by ko/tko to strikes and lost his second fight by ko/tko to strikes.  He is ready to do battle and bring the crowd on their feet.  His opponent is Stacy Lupo and he trains out of Shatterproof Combat Club.  He will be making his amateur debut.  Great first fight to get the crowd pumped for a night of carnage.

115 AM MMA Alex Walker (Kaze 0-1) vs Nicole Burgess (Berserker's 0-0)

Second fight is an amateur mma battle between Alex Walker and Nicole Burgess.  Walker trains with Kaze Dojo and comes into this fight with an 0-1 record with one loss by decision at a previous NEF show.  In her last battle she fought a hard fought kickboxing bout against Crystal Demers in which she lost a decision at a Combat Zone event.  She is still hungry for her first taste of victory.  Her opponent is Nicole Burgess and she will be making her amateur debut and fights out of Team Berserkers.  This should be an exciting fight that will get the NEF fans on their feet.

155 AM MMA Steve Bang, Jr. (CMBJJ 3-5) vs Dominic Cofone (Academy of MMA 6-5)

Then at 155 lbs Steve Bang Jr will take on the Hands of Steel Dom Cofone.  Steve trains with CMBJJ and comes into this fight with a 3-5 record.  In the win column, Steve won 2 by submission and 1 by decision.  For his losses, he lost 2 by ko/tko, 2 by submission and 1 by decision.  This will be his 8th time stepping into the NEF cage.  His opponent is Dom Cofone and he trains with the Academy of MMA.  Dom comes into this fight with a 6-5 record with 1 win by ko/tko, 4 wins by submission and 1 split decision win.  For his losses, he lost 1 by ko/tko, 2 by submission and 2 by decision.  Both of these guys are well versed on the ground and I think this one is going to be a good ground battle.

145 AM MMA Skyler Bang (CMBJJ 0-0) Eddie DeRoche (Berserker's MMA 0-0)

At 145 lbs Skyler Bang will take on Eddie DeRoche in the NEF cage.  Bang is one of the many members of the Bang family that is fighting this Saturday.  Bang trains with CMBJJ and will be making his amateur debut.  His opponent is Eddie DeRoche and he trains with Berserker's MMA.  Eddie will also be making his amateur debut.  Two fresh fighters looking to get their feet wet or bloody shall we say!

130 AM MMA Conner Murphy (1-1 Nor Cal FA ) vs Justin Witham (1-4 Shatterproof)

Next up at a catch of 130 lbs Conner Murphy will take on Justin Witham.  Murphy trains with Nor Cal Fighting Alliance and comes into this fight with a 1-1 record.  Murphy won his first battle by submission to strikes and lost his second fight by submission.  He hasn't fought since 2013 so I bet he is anxious to get back into the cage.  His opponent is Justin Witham and he trains out of Team Shatterproof.  He comes into this fight with a 1-4 record with his sole win by ko/tko to punches.  For his losses, he lost 3 by submission and 1 by decision.  As you can see by their records they are very similar and that should make for a solid match up.

155 AM MMA Derek Daley (0-0 First Class MMA ) vs Johel Stephenson (0-0 3Ronin Athletics)

At 155 lbs Derek Daley will be taking on Johel Stephenson.  Daley trains with First Class MMA and will be making his amateur debut.  His opponent is Johel Stephenson and he trains with 3Ronin Athletics.  He will also be making his amateur debut.

170 AM MMA Shawn Bang (CMBJJ 1-1) vs Mike Bezanson (Kaze 1-0)

At 170 lbs Shawn Bang will step into the cage against Mike Bezanson.  Bang comes into this fight with a 1-1 record and trains with CMBJJ.  He won his first fight by decision against Tollison Lewis and lost his second fight by submission to Jeremy Tyler.  He hasn't fought since 2013 so I bet he is anxious to get in the cage once again.  His opponent is Mike Bezanson and he trains with Team Kaze.  He comes into this fight with a 1-0 record and I am pretty sure most NEF fans will remember his taunting of his opponent in his first fight in which he won by ko/tko in Rd 2.  He is a good kid with alot of potential and that he told me that he wanted to just put on a show for the NEF fans.  This is going to be a good one folks!

125 AM MMA TITLE Ryan Burgess (Berserkers 2-0)(c) vs Dustin Veinott (CMBJJ 4-4)

In the only title fight of the night Ryan Burgess defends his title against Dustin Veinott.  Burgess trains with Berserkers MMA and comes into this fight with a perfect 2-0 record.  Burgess won both of his fights by decision including winning the belt over Veinott in a razor close split decision victory.  This sparked a big smack talk on facebook and has been months in the making.  Now the rematch is finally happening!  Veinott trains with CMBJJ and comes into this fight with a 4-4 record.  For his wins, he has 1 by ko/tko 2 by submission and 1 by decision.  For his losses, he has 1 by ko/tko, 1 by submission and 2 by decision.  This is going to be such a good rematch.  Who will win the second time??  Can't wait!

160 PRO BOXING Russell Lamour (13-2) vs Roberto Valenzuela (69-71-2)
140 PRO BOXING TITLE Brandon Berry (11-1-1)(c) vs James Lester (10-9-1)

145 PRO MMA Matt Denning (CMBJJ 3-2) vs Brandon Bushaw (Fitness Edge MMA 1-2)

In the first pro mma fight of the night Matt Denning will face Brandon Bushaw.  Denning trains with CMBJJ and comes into this fight with a 3-2 record.  He has all 3 wins by way of submission and 1 loss by ko/tko and 1 loss by submission.  He is fresh off a win from that last NEF which happened just over a month ago.  His opponent is Brandon Bushaw and he trains with Fitness Edge MMA.  Bushaw comes into this fight with a 1-2 record with his sole pro win by ko/tko to strikes.  For his 2 losses, he lost both of them by way of submission.  Both of these fighters are well rounded and had great amateur careers.  I am anxious to see how well they match up together and I think this one is going to be a ground battle.

250 PRO MMA Michael Hansen (Berserkers 4-4) vs Robert Laroski (Independent 1-1)

At 250 lbs Mike Hansen will facing off against Robert Laroski.  Hansen trains with Berserkers MMA and comes into this fight with a 4-4 record.  In the win column he has 1 ko/tko and 3 by submission.  For his losses, he has 3 by ko/tko and 1 by submission.  His opponent is Robert Laroski and he is an independent fighter with a 1-1 record.  I couldn't find his win but he lost one fight by ko/tko in 2011.  I feel this fight will not be going to a decision and the heavy fists will be flying.

160 PRO MMA Jesse Erickson (CMBJJ 6-5) vs Amos Collins (Fitness Edge MMA 4-5)

In the main event at 160 lbs Jesse Erickson will be taking on Amos Collins.  Erickson trains out of CMBJJ and comes into this fight with a 6-5 record with 5 wins by submission and 1 ko/tko.  For his losses, he lost 3 by ko/tko and 2 by submission.  His opponent is Amos Collins and he trains with Fitness Edge MMA.  He comes into this fight with a 4-5 record with 2 wins by submission and 2 wins by decision.  For his losses, he lost 2 by ko/tko and 3 by submission.  Both of these fighters have fought in front of the NEF crowd and they know how to put on a show so you don't want to miss this one!

There you have the complete breakdown of the NEF card (minus the boxing).  As you can see it should be another solid night of fights and a busy one for New England with Cage Titans also going on in Plymouth, MA that night.  We will be splitting the crew as Warchild and I will head north to cover NEF and The Artist, Joe Leonard will be covering Cage Titans and keeping you all up to date on that show.  I hope you enjoyed this teaser and if you did show some love by sharing it with your friends.  Thanks!
