AMMO FIGHT LEAGUE 1 -LOCKED AND LOADED 2/25/2017 TEASER

No automatic alt text available.

After a stuttering start with their November show Ammo is locked and loaded to launch their first mma event this Saturday in West Springfield Mass at the Big E.  The event will be at the Eastern States Exposition Center and the time is 5pm.  For those who aren't familiar with Ammo, they have been doing grappling events around the area for about 2 years now.  Bill Idol is the founder and he is now ready to expand into the mixed martial arts portion.  Tickets are still available starting at $35 at the link here.  There are a total of 8 matches, 3 of them grappling, and 5 of them MMA.  For the mma portion there are 2 pro fights and 3 title fights!  Let me break down the fight card for you all.  Keep in mind this might not be the final fight order and I am only going to break down the mma portion.

GRAPPLING Gabriel Souza (Casa of Jiu Jitsu) vs. Donnie Osier (Manley MMA & Self Defense)

155 AM Harrison Adamo 1-0 (Ultimate MMA & Jiu-Jitsu) vs. Chris Baldoni  0-0 (Ind)

The first mma fight of the night is between Harrison Adamo and Chris Baldoni at 155 lbs.  Adamo trains with Ultimate MMA and comes into this fight with a 1-0 record.  He won his first bout by submission against Chris Almestica at a former Premier FC event.  His opponent is Chris Baldoni and he will be making his amateur debut.  He is an independent fighter and is looking to make a name for himself this Saturday.  This should be a great fight to kick off the night and I give the edge to Adamo due to his fight experience.

GRAPPLING Chris Manley (Manley MMA & Self Defense) vs. Placido Santos (Mat Monster Academy/Fuji Gym)

140 AM Michael Kimbel 1-3 (Thunder) vs. Randy Francis 1-1 (Strike Zone)

Then at 140 lbs Mike Kimbel will take on Randy Francis.  Kimbel trains out of Team Thunder and comes into this fight with a record of 1-3.  He has 1 win by ko/tko and lost 1 by ko/tko, submission and 1 by decision.  Don't let his record fool you, he is a very exciting fighter to watch in the cage.  His opponent is Randy Francis and he trains out of Strikezone MMA in CT.  He comes into this fight with a 1-1 record with 1 win by ko/tko and 1 loss by submission.  Both of the fighters can scrap and I see this one being a back and forth battle.

155 AM TITLE Matt Bienia 4-0 (Zenquest Martial Arts) vs Jesse James Kosakowski 2-0 (GFTeam/CTMMA)

At 155 lbs Matt Benia will take on Jesse Kosakowski for the coveted Ammo MMA title.  Bienia trains with Zenquest Martial Arts and comes into this fight with a 4-0 record.  He has 2 wins by ko/tko and 2 wins by submission.  His opponent is Jesse Kosakowski and he trains with CTMMA and GFTeam.  He comes into this fight with a 2-0 record with both wins by submission.  Both fighters are going to fight their butts off for the fans as they both want the title and to not get their first blemish on their record.  Who will be victorious?  We will find out this Saturday.

155 PRO TITLE Vovka Clay 3-2 (Triumph BJJ) vs. Andrew Chirico 2-2 (Renzo Gracie)

At 155 lbs Vovka Clay will fight Andrew Chirico for the Ammo Pro Title.  Clay trains with Triumph BJJ and comes into this fight with a 3-2 record.  In the win column, he has 2 wins by submission and 1 by decision.  For his losses, he lost 2 by way of decision.  His opponent is Andrew Chirico and he trains with Renzo Gracie out of Latham NY.  He comes into this fight with a 2-2 record.  For his wins he has 1 by ko/tko and 1 by split decision.  For his losses, he lost both wins by submission.  I like this fight as both fighters are very similar style fighters and have both fought some tough pro fights so far into their career.  Andrew looks impressive each time I see him fight and Vovka is tough as nails.  This is going to be a great fight!

GRAPPLING Caio Magalaes (Texiera MMA & Fitness) vs. Olivera Taza (Tristar/Grenzo Gracie)

170 PRO TITLE Leon Davis 8-3 (FAA) vs. Ralph Johnson 9-19 (Ind)

In the main event Leon Davis takes on Ralph Johnson for the 170 lb title.  Davis trains with Fighting Arts Academy in Springfield Mass.  He comes into this fight with an 8-3 record with 1 by ko/tko, 1 by sub and 6 decisions.  He has an excellent wrestling background and uses it to win his battles and wear them down.  For his losses, he lost  1 by ko/tko and 2 by submission.  His opponent is Ralph Johnson and he is an independent fighter.  He comes into this fight with a 9-19 record with all 9 wins by ko.  The majority of his losses are by submissions.  Ammo has been searching for an opponent for Leon for a while no and no one has stepped up.  Ralph Johnson is always ready for a fight and steps up.  Everyone in New England knows Leon Davis and Ralph Johnson and I hope this a great fight.  Davis will want to take Ralph down and work his submission and take the first ever Ammo title and keep it in Springfield.  Johnson will try to keep Leon standing and use his long reach and get the KO.
There you have the complete breakdown of the upcoming Ammo Fight League event.  Ammo has had many cancelled fights and lost some good ones due to medical issues with the new CAT scan requirements for all amateur fighters.  Time will tell how badly this effects the promotions in Massachusetts but either way Ammo will be taking place this Saturday!  The grappling fights on the card are some solid grapplers which should be a treat for the mma enthusiasts. The Toddfather and The Boss will be in attendance keeping us all up to date. Thanks for reading this and please give us a share.
