Portland, Maine (October 12, 2022) – New England Fights (NEF) returns to Aura in Portland, Maine on Saturday, November 12, 2022, with its next mixed-martial-arts (MMA) event “NEF 50.” Earlier today the fight promotion announced the addition of an amateur catchweight bout to the card. Tyler Parent (1-2) is set to face Neil Mazumdar (2-1-1) at a fight weight of 130 pounds.
Tyler Parent made his amateur MMA debut last year at “NEF 44” in Milford, New Hampshire in a losing effort against Teddy Politis (2-1). He returned later that fall at “NEF 45” and picked up his first amateur win with a second-round technical knockout of Randall Hathorn (1-2). Parent would go on to lose his third fight via unanimous decision at “NEF 47” last spring in a back-and-forth battle with Nate Dorr (2-0). He will now look to even his record in the upcoming fight with Mazumdar. Parent represents Central Maine Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu based in Lewiston, Maine.
"Neil looks like a game opponent,” noted Parent. “I’m coming out looking for a finish, but I’m prepared to go to war for three rounds."
Neil Mazumdar will make his NEF debut on November 12. His first amateur bout took place on a card in London, Ontario, Canada in 2018. Mazumdar fought to a draw with his opponent that evening. After a three-year layoff from the cage, Mazumdar returned in 2021 and has gone 2-1 on fight cards in Massachusetts since with a submission and a unanimous decision to his credit. Mazumdar currently represents Sityodtong.
“NEF 50” is scheduled for Saturday, November 12 at Aura in Portland, Maine. Doors will open at 6 p.m. with first fight taking place at 7 p.m. Tickets are available now at TicketMaster.com.
