Portland, Maine (April 20, 2023) – New England Fights (NEF) returns to Aura in Portland, Maine on Saturday, May 13, 2023, with its next mixed-martial-arts (MMA) event “NEF 52: Zero Hour.” Earlier today, the fight promotion announced the addition of an amateur catchweight bout to the card. Joe Peters (1-3) will meet Kyler Hoobler (2-0) at a fight weight of 180 pounds.

Joe Peters has fought in the NEF cage on two previous occasions. At “NEF 47” last year he defeated Bryant Wade (1-1) via third round technical knockout. For Peters follow-up bout at “NEF 48,” he dropped from middleweight to the 170-pound welterweight division to face Ed Davis (2-1), losing by technical knockout in the second round. Peters represents Karasu Tengu Academy based in Nashua, New Hampshire.

“I’m here to do what I always do, put on a show and throw with bad intentions,” said Peters. “This dude has had some fights, but I push the pace and make it dirty. Let’s see if he can handle it!”

Undefeated Kyler Hoobler will make his way to Maine from Ft. Wayne, Indiana where he trains at Lee Brothers MMA. He made his amateur debut on a fight card in Omaha, Nebraska last September with a win via first-round technical knockout. Hoobler next appeared at “NEF 51” earlier this year and took a hard-fought unanimous decision on the scorecards over Jonathan Gardner (0-2).

“NEF 52: Zero Hour” will take place on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at Aura in Portland, Maine. Doors will open at 6 pm with first fight taking place at 7 pm. Tickets are on sale now at
