AFO Is Back This September

[AFO Press Release] From their website http://www.theamericanfightingorganization.com/

This November will mark American Fighting Organization's 7th anniversary. 7 years ago, Pete Dilorenzo laid down the foundation of AFO which would become the most active promotion in New England. Throughout this time there have been many faces that have come and gone but there was always one constant, AFO would continue to grow as it was carried on the shoulders of one man. Over the years MMA has grown rapidly in New England and with the introduction of the Commission, the growth spread like wildfire!

Many promotions were holding 3 or 4 cards a year while AFO held a steady pace of 7. Over the past 2 years, the MMA scene in Mass has grown so rapidly that you can count on there being a minimum of 3 cards a month. With the sport gaining so much popularity and the number of promotions increasing, one bad show can kill a promotion. With that said, we have been on hiatus since Night of Champions in April. During this hiatus we didn't sit and watch everyone else, we decided to go through a major restructuring. We could have kept doing the same thing and would have been fine but that is not enough. It is time for AFO to evolve into something bigger and better.

With this restructuring will come the introduction of the new team that is going to be running AFO. Former AFO DJ and amateur heavyweight Brandon Newman will be taking over as promoter, Ayandy Mdledle Williams will be taking over as matchmaker, and Christin Johansson will be the director of events and marketing. Our goal is to take the great organization that Pete Dilorenzo created and make it bigger and better. We would not be where we are without our fans or the fighters. Our goal is to build strong relations with fighters, teams and our fans because strength through unity will take us to the next level.

On September 8th at the Brockton Fairgrounds, AFO will be hosting the American Beauty American Muscle Car Show. This is a fan and fighter appreciation event where people can reacquaint themselves with AFO and meet the new team behind it. This will be an all day family event which will showcase a Battle of The Bands, Ring Girl Competition, Grappling tournament, Car Show, and familiar vendor as well as new ones. This will be a day full of good times, cash, and prizes as we get ready for AFO Havoc which will be taking place at the same venue on Sept 29th with a late afternoon kickoff! Brockton Fairgrounds is an outdoor venue with a stadium style grandstand that has a seating capacity of 2,700. This will be our biggest venue yet but I can't think of a better way to launch the new and improved AFO!

Tickets for the American Beauty American Muscle Car Show are now on sale in our online store. We are currently offering a Buy 2 Get 1 free promotion until Sunday (3 pack of tix for 20). If you are interested in being a part of either event, send an email to afo.publicrelations@gmail.com
