Auburn, Maine (April 18, 2022) – New England Fights (NEF) returns with its next mixed-martial-arts (MMA) event “NEF 47: The Battle of L/A” on Saturday, May 14, 2022, at the Norway Savings Bank Arena in Auburn, Maine. Earlier today, the fight promotion announced the addition of a professional lightweight bout to the card. Mohammed Al Kinani (2-0) is scheduled to face Ross Dannar (0-0) at a fight weight of 155 pounds.
Once the hottest amateur prospect in New England, Mohammed Al Kinani has been making his mark in the professional ranks this year. He picked up the second win of his professional career last Friday on a fight card in Indiana. Earlier this year, Al Kinani won his pro debut via first-round knockout at “NEF 46.” He has won seven fights in a row, including his final five amateur bouts – a streak dating back nearly four years. Al Kinani is undefeated in the NEF cage with four wins all by first-round knockout. He currently represents Evolution Athletix based in Saco, Maine.
“Luckily, no damage was absorbed during my most recent war against Roy Garza (1-1),” noted Al Kinani of his recent victory in Indiana. “That means I’ll be back in camp as soon as Monday. No cans, I needed a fucking fight and it seems like I got one. Coming for nothing but blood. 3-0.”
Ross Dannar will make his professional MMA debut against Al Kinani after an amateur career that saw him put together a record of 2-1. Dannar had one previous appearance in the NEF cage – a unanimous decision win over Phil Chason at “NEF 27” in February 2017. He holds a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and represents Nostos MMA based in Somersworth, New Hampshire.
“I’m excited to test myself against the big challenge that Mo presents as a fighter,” stated Dannar. “I think that the two of us have the potential for a great fight. I walk into the cage for the experience of it all and am looking forward to May 14th. It will be a night to remember for sure.”
“NEF 47: The Battle of L/A” takes place on May 14, 2022, at the Norway Savings Bank Arena in Auburn, Maine. Tickets for the event are on sale now at www.NewEnglandFights.com/Tickets/. The event will be the promotion’s first in Lewiston-Auburn since June 2019.
