🚨BREAKING--🚨 KENNEY & MITCHELL PREPARE FOR LIGHTWEIGHT COLLISION IN BANGOR

[NEF PRESS RELEASE]

Bangor, Maine (September 3, 2022) – New England Fights (NEF) returns to Bangor, Maine on Friday, September 9, 2022, with its next mixed-martial-arts (MMA) event “NEF 49: Queen City Showdown.”  It will be NEF’s first event in Bangor in more than three years.  Earlier today, the fight promotion announced the addition of an amateur lightweight bout to the card.  Kaleb “The Outlaw” Kenney (0-2) will take on Patrick Mitchell at a fight weight of 155 pounds.

Kaleb Kenney will look for his first win as an amateur.  He made his debut at “NEF 44” last summer in New Hampshire with a first-round loss to Isaac Piette (1-0).  Kenney returned to the cage at “NEF 46 in February and took Cody Kilton (2-1) the distance, losing a unanimous decision on the judges’ scorecards.  Kenney represents Team Nitemare.

“I’m grateful for the opportunity to fight again,” said Kenney. “I’m looking forward to getting in there and showing the improvements in my game. I want to prove that my record isn’t a representation of the fighter I am. Win, lose, or draw, I f$%king love this and I’m just happy to be here. As always, much respect to my opponent. I’m excited to get in there and scrap.”

Patrick Mitchell will make his amateur MMA debut at “NEF 49” in his hometown of Bangor.  He has dedicated the fight to the memory of NEF veteran Chaz Gray (1-1) who passed away in August 2019.  Mitchell represents Team Ellison.

"I'm very excited to be making my NEF debut, especially against a tough opponent like Kaleb Kenney,” said Mitchell. “We’re both going to be very hungry to win. It’s definitely going to be a dogfight. There's a beautiful soul in heaven, a great person, Chaz Gray, that was into the sport and got me into the sport. I wasn't living a good life at the time and he pushed me in the gym and in life to want to live a better life. This one is for you, Chaz. Thank you for believing in me, and helping me along in my journey. And thank you to my teammates and coaches for making me better every day, as well as my family for coming to watch me train night after night. And to Team Ellison, let's kick some butt.”

“NEF 49: Queen City Showdown” is set for Friday, September 9 and will be the organization’s long-awaited return to Bangor, Maine. For more information, go to NewEnglandFights.com.  Tickets are available now at TicketMaster.com.
