BATTLE EXTREME CHAMPIONSHIP June 16th 2012 Review

BATTLE EXTREME CHAMPIONSHIP
"THE RISE"

BY GUEST WRITER

TODD "RESULTS" SELVA
The Boss and I arrived at the Mass Mutual center in springfield, Ma around 6:30 pm. This is a great venue. From what I hear mass mutual holds over 8,000. The cage was huge with blue vinyl flooring. Sweet set up. If I had to estimate there are approximately 300 in attendence.
We are informed that all fights on this card are 5/5 minute rounds. A few of the fights did not happen due to fighters pulling out last minute. As far as the fights that did happen, I am more than happy to share my insight on the action.

Fight 1 Grappling
Ramos vs. Alex
rd1

They come out and clinch. They immediately go to the ground and Ramos is on top.  Alex looks for an armbar from his guard, Ramos defends and Alex switches to a traingle. Ramos defends and scrambles to top position. Alex stays with it and finishes the triangle from the mount position.

Fight 5
Alexander "vaca" Moreno vs. Trevor Smith
rd1

Trevor lands a hard kick. They clinch and go to the ground. Trevor is on top in vacas guard and lands a few devastating punches. He throws a few elbows and lands one or two. They scramble and Trevor stands back up. Vaca lands a couple punches and they clinch again. They go back to the ground and Trevor is on top again. Trevor lands a few more hard punches from the top position. Vaca looks to stand up against the cage and Trevor grabs his neck for a guillotine. Trevor sinks it in tight for the submission. A strong win for Trevor Smith. Trevor stands back up and taunts Vacas coaches and corner men, bragging about his win. He flexes his muscles for the crowd, they are not impressed. I hear a lot of "Boos". Very unprofessional in my opinion. I personally was not satisfied with his behavior. Very disrespectful. Its safe to say Trevor Smith is far from "a class act" but surprisingly pulls off a fashionable submission on the black belt Alexander vaca Moreno.
