Premier FC 10 July 8th 2012 Full Teaser

We are less than a week away before Premier FC returns with their 10th installment of mixed martial arts action.  This one is set to take place on July 8th 2012 in Holyoke MA at the Log Cabin.  This is the 3rd part of the tournament and they will be having two semifinal fights for the evening along with 8 more amateur fights which gives us a total of ten fights for the afternoon.  The doors open at 1pm and the fights start at 2pm.  Tickets are still on sale on their website starting at just $30 bux.  Get them by visiting here.  There are many returning fighters on this card and one of them is a very popular western mass fighter Sarah Payant who will be fighting in the 125lb female division.  Karyn Wesch, the promoter/matchmaker worked double duty again for this show and has done a great job keeping us in the loop.  Weigh ins will be taking place on Saturday at 4pm at Maximum Capacity.  We will be there taking photos and keeping you all up to date on the happenings.  Lets break down the card.

For the part of the tournament we have two semifinal fights, one in the 145lb tournament and one in the 170lb tournament.  For the 145lb tournament, the semifinal fight will be between Jordan Pope and Leon Campbell.  Due to injuries and fighters dropping out of the tournament Premier FC used the alternate fighters to fill the tournament and it makes for some exciting fights.  Jordan Pope trains with Premier Fight Team and has a record of 1-0.  He defeated Josten Mclamb via knockout in just 12 seconds in his amateur debut.  He will be looking to improve to 2-0 this Sunday.  His opponent Leon Campbell is from Team Sityodtong and has a record of 3-1.  Now Leon has fought all of his fights for Premier FC.  He is a very well rounded fighter and has a KO, submission and decision win so far in his amateur career.  His only loss came at the last Premier FC where he took on Soap Am from Team Pradal Serey and Soap Am won the unanimous decision where he controlled the fight the entire time.  Now the winner of this fight advances to fight Soap Am for the 145lb Tournament Finals.  Now this could make for a rematch between Leon Campbell and Soap Am which I know Leon would love to do again but let's not get ahead of ourselves.  Josten looked great in his amateur debut and I am anxious to see how this fight is going to go down.

The second semifinal fight of the tournament is in the 170lb division between Myles Reid and Tyler Rose.  Again due to injuries and what not Myles Reid is the alternate and is stepping in to help them finish the tournament.  Myles trains with The Dungeon and has a record of 1-1.  He won via guillotine to Louis Grignasfini and lost to George Abele last Premier FC from ref stoppage to punches.  He will be looking to get the win so he can get a rematch with George Abele again!!  His opponent Tyler trains with Ultimate MMA and has a record of 1-0. He looked impressive on the ground and got the armbar submission win right at the end of round 1 against Ray Johns.  This will be a good matchup folks.  I can see Myles wanting to keep it standing so they can stand and bang and if he needs to use his wrestling to control the fight on the ground.  Tyler looked real good on the ground and I can see him wanting to get the fight to the ground where he can work his submission game.

Now onto the non tournament fights of the evening.  The first one is between Walter Rodriguez and Doug Campball.  Walter is from Lion's Den out of Connecticut I believe and Doug trains with BMAC which is out of Boston MA.  This fight is in the 145lb division and both fighters will be making their amateur debut.  Next we have Mike DeLosReyes against Lance Brown in the 125lb division.  Mike trains out of Team Dexter and has a record of 1-5. His last fight was for Premier FC where he lost a very close split decision to Marvin Maldonado.  Nothing against Marvin but I had the fight going the other way with a slight edge to Mike.  It is only an amateur record so no point in complaining too much.  His opponent Lance trains with Jiu Jitsu Nation and will be making his amateur debut.  Will Mike's experience let him be victorious or will the raw fresh amateur Lance come out on top??

Then we have Dan Bardellini fighting Isaiah Gomez at 160lbs.  Dan trains with Jorge Rivera MMA and has a record of 0-3.  I was unable to find any information on Dan but being from Rivera's school I know he will be ready.  Isaiah trains out of Sityodtong Northshore and has a record of 2-1.  He actually has two fights this month, one for here and second for Cage Titans so he has a busy month.  He looked very impressive in his last fight where he defeated Josh Smith via triangle early in round 1.  His other win came via unanimous decision  at a Combat Zone show.  I see this fight being a good ground battle and should make for a great fight.

Ian McEwen will be fighting Marvin Maldonado at 135lbs.  Ian is out of Lion's Den which makes for their second fighter that evening and he will be making his amateur debut.  Lion's Den has tough fighters and I know Ian will be ready for a battle.  Marvin trains out of Bruno Tostes MMA out of New York and has a record of 2-2.  As said up above he won a split decision victory last Premier FC over Mike DeLosReyes.  In fact all four of his fights came to a decision so he has the stamina to stay in the fight the entire time which is great.  Then we have Jonas Benoit taking on Mike Ingalls at a catchweight of 200lbs.  Jonas is from Team Khan who I am not very familiar with but he has a record of 1-0.  I have heard he had many muay thai fights as well.  His opponent Mike is an independent fighter with a record of 2-1.  He has a ko victory and a submission victory that we all saw at the last Premier FC which was in a very entertaining fight against Leo Powers.  I am hoping this fight will be a stand and banging fight but if Jonas's standup is too strong Mike might have to take it to the ground.  This should be an awesome battle.

Joshua Carerro is set to fight Chris Palacios in the 135lb division.  Josh is from DCNU and has a record of 2-0.  His last fight he fought Angel Laboy at Warrior Nation III which western mass fans got to see at the famous Hu Ke Lau back in April.  He had great control of the fight the entire time and had an excellent ground game.  Chris trains out of Sityodtong Northshore and has a record of 0-1.  I was not able to find any info on his first fight but being from Team Sityodtong I know he will be much improved and ready for a war. Now for the female bout of the evening.  Ashley Weber will be fighting Sarah Payant.  Ashley will be making her amateur debut and trains out of Team Dexter.  Dexter has some great fighters and this should be a good one folks.  Sarah trains out of Gladiator BJJ and comes into this fight with a record of 1-2.  She lost her first two fights via submissions early in Round 1 but her last fight she had a war with a very tough Bombsquad fighter,  Christina Houck.  These ladies were going at it and Christina was unable to answer the bell at the start of Round 3.  Sarah looked excellent her last fight and kept her composure the entire time.  Her confidence is riding high and she will be looking for her second ammy win.  Ashley like I said above is making her amateur debut and she will be looking to make a name for herself and establish herself in the very scarce women's division.

Then the last fight on the card is between Zach Ordoyne and Josh Smith.  Zach trains out of Greenfield MA with Team Ravenous and will be making his amateur debut.  His opponent Josh Smith fights out of Jiu Jitsu Nation and has a record of 0-1.  This fight will be in the 155lb division.  Zach has been training with Team Ravenous for a while now and is a very hard worker.  He has been training hard and will be ready for a battle.  As for Josh in his amateur debut he lost via triangle to Isaiah Gomez early in round 1 and will be looking for his first amateur win.

There you have it folks!  Ten fights should make for a great Sunday afternoon of mixed martial arts fights at the Log Cabin in Holyoke MA.  Keep in mind this is not the fight order.  If anyone's record or information is wrong please let me know.  I would like to thank Karyn Wesch of Premier FC for keeping us up to date with the fight cards.  The Log Cabin is up on top of a mountain with a great view of the forest outside.  Inside is where the carnage will happen on July 8th, 2012.  Click the link in the introduction to get your tickets or get them from your local fighter.  Hope to see you all there!
