PREMIER FC 15 TEASER 4/5/2014

Premier Fighting Championship returns this Saturday April 5th, 2014 with their 15th installment of mixed martial arts action.  This time around it will be at Chez Josef in Agawam Massachusetts but it will be very much like the Log Cabin setup in Holyoke, MA if you attended a show there.  The doors will be opening at 6pm so make sure you get there on time.  Prime Athletics will be there and will be having great deals on tshirts.  Mention the fighters name and they will get some money back which is always nice to do.  I am sure GetPunched will be there as well so make sure to check out their booth.  Tickets are on sale and start at standing room for just $20 at the link here and Seats for $35.  If you are looking for VIP seats, sorry those are already sold out.  The fight card features 14 amateur fights and 3 of them will be title fights.  I would like to thank Karyn Wesch, the promoter and matchmaker for PFC on always keeping us in the loop on the PFC info.  Let me break down the card for you all.  Keep in mind this most likely will not be the fight order as fights are subject to change.

175lbs AM Dan Schbell (Thunder 0-0) vs. Jose Tejeda (Gladiator 0-1)

At 175lbs Dan Schell takes on Jose Tejada.  Dan is from Team Thunder and will be making his amateur debut.  His opponent Jose is from Team Gladiator right here in Springfield MA and comes into this fight with an 0-1 record.  Jose lost his fight amateur fight in 2009 at the Fury in Fight Town at the Holyoke Boys and Girls Club by split decision to Brandon Rooney.  This will be a good battle and as you can see by the record a very fair one at that.

145 lbs AM Rob Knox (Gracie NY 1-0) vs Nick Pallini (Independent 3-3)

Next up at 145lbs Rob Knox faces off against Nick Pallini.  Rob is from Gracie NY and has a 1-0 record.  He had a KO/TKO over Chris Deming.  Nick is an independent fighter and has fought all of his fights for PFC.  He has a 3-3 record with two wins by submission and one by ko/tko ref stoppage.  He lost two of his fights by submission and one by decision.  This is going to be a real good battle because both fighters seem to like to stand and strike which will make for an awesome show for the fans.

145lbs AM Kenny Peralta (Ultimate MMA 1-1) vs. Vinnie Brightman (Thunder 0-1)

Then Kenny Peralta squares off against Vinnie Brightman at 145lbs.  Kenny is from Ultimate MMA and has a 1-1 record.  He lost his first fight by unanimous decision against Jean Surin at PFC 14.  He recently fought at Warrior Nation and defeated Kevin Aurelien by ko/tko in Rd 1.  He will be looking to bring that momentum from his last fight into this fight Saturday.  His opponent Vinnie Brightman is from Team Thunder and has an 0-1 record.  He lost his first fight by rear naked choke back in 2001 to Mike Brown.  I think fight will be another stand up battle.

155 lbs AM Camber Bohlen (Gladiator BJJ 1-2) vs Alex Ortiz (Gracie CT 0-0)

Then Camber Bohlen returns to the PFC cage against Alex Ortiz at 155lbs.  Camber is from Gladiator BJJ and has a 1-2 record.  He won one fight by KO/TKO and lost two fights by submission.  He suffered an injury in his last fight and is now ready to come back to the cage.  Not to mention he is a tough as nails as he is in the army!  His opponent Alex is from Gracie CT and he will be making his amateur debut. Being from a BJJ school you know he will be solid on the ground.  I feel this one is going to be a ground battle and I predict it will end in a submission!

205lbs AM Jeff Bok (Link 3-0) vs. Joe Lexus (Team Thunder 1-0)

Next up Jeff Bok takes on Joe Lexus at 205lbs.  Jeff is from Team Link and has a 3-0 record.  He has won the majority of his fights by submissions.  His opponent Joe is from Team Thunder and has a 1-0 record.  Joe won his first fight by decision.  I feel this fight will be a ground battle and will end in a submission.  I don't think it will go the distance.

170 lbs AM Myles Reid (CCFA 1-4) vs Anthony Benevides (Gracie CT 0-0)

Myles Reid enters the cage against Anthony Benevides at 170lbs.  Myles is out of CCFA and has a 1-4 record.  He won his first fight by submission and then lost his last four bouts.  Two of them were losses by submission and two by tko/ko to strikes.  It looks like he is now training with CCFA instead of Dungeon MMA now.  His opponent Anthony is from Gracie CT and will be making his amateur debut.  I think Myles will want to keep this standing and try not to get this fight to the ground.  Anthony most likely will want to get this on the ground and to work his jiu jitsu.

130 lbs AM Sarah Payant (Gladiator BJJ 3-5) vs Sarah Jacobson (Sixel Fight Club 2-2)

Fan favorite Sarah Payant is back against Sarah Jacobson at a catch weight of 130lbs.  Sarah trains with Gladiator BJJ and has a 3-5 record.  For her wins she has two by way of the fist and one by submission.  She lost four of her fights by submission and one by decision which was a title fight against Delaney Owen down in Florida.  Her opponent Sarah is from Sixel Fight Club and has a 2-2 record.  She fights out of Wisconsin and has both of her losses by decision.  For her two wins she won them both by tko/ko to strikes.  This is a good match up for each fighter as they both like to stand and strike.  This one will be a crowd pleaser as well because who doesn't like to see two young ladies in a cage getting violent and slug it out.  I predict Sarah will win this fight (get it)?

135 lbs AM Scott Gorgone (Mass BJJ 3-0) vs Angel Laboy (Independent 3-5)

At 135lbs Scott Gorgone takes on Angel Laboy.  Scott is out of Mass BJJ and has a 3-0 record.  Scott has two submission victories and one win by decision.  He will be looking to keep his perfect amateur record intact.  I was not able to find all of Angel's fight information but I know he won one of his battles by submission.  He lost two by ko/tko and one by decision.  He has fought a lot of tough fighters in his career and this one will be no easy fight as well.  I see this one being a ground battle.

135lbs AM Marques Brewster (NE Combat 3-1) vs. Dashawn Robinson (Ultimate MMA 2-2)

Next up is Marques Brewster against Dashawn Robinson at 135lbs.  Marques is out of NE Combat and has a 3-1 record.  He has two ko/tko and one decision win so far in his career.  Dashawn is from Ultimate MMA and has a 2-2 record.  He lost his first two fights by submission and then won his last two fights, both of them by submission.  This is a good match up and I think Marques will want to keep this standing and wear down his opponent.  Dashawn will want to get this fight to the ground and try to test Marques's ground game.

170 lbs AM Ray Johns (Thunder 0-4) vs Angelo Richardson (Gracie CT 1-0)

Ray Johns returns to the PFC cage against Angelo Richardson at 170lbs.  Ray is from Team Thunder and has an 0-4 record.  He lost one fight by decision and the other 3 by submission.  He is still looking for his first taste of amateur victory.  His opponent Angelo is from Gracie CT and has a 1-0 record.  I was not able to find his fighter information so we will have to see how this one plays out.  Being from Gracie CT, he should be decent on the ground so I predict he will want to take this fight to the ground.  I would like to see Ray keep this fight standing for a bit and try to tire out Angelo.

125lbs AM Tim Flores (Legal Beatdown 3-1) vs Adam Mimms (Spa City BJJ 1-0)

In a 125lb battle Tim Florees takes on Adam Mimms.  Tim fights out of Springfield Mass under Legal Beatdown MMA and has a 3-1 record.  He has a ko/tko, one submission and one decision victory so far in his career.  He is always an entertaining fighter to watch and I am sure this fight will be the same.  He is looking better and better each fight too.  His opponent Adam is from Spa City BJJ and has a 1-0 record.  He won by ko/tko in Rd 1 over Korey Kennedy at a previous Kaged Kombat.  Sounds to me like these two guys like to slug it out in the cage.  I think this one will be a potential fight of the night contender.

145lbs AM Title Fight Jesse Miele (IMBCT 2-0) vs. Pam Sorenson (3-0-1 The Cellar)

Jesse Miele returns to the cage against Pam Sorenson at 145lbs.  This one will be for the 145lb Amateur title.  Jesse fought at PFC 3 which just happened to be my first mma show I covered for WesternMassMMA.com.  Jesse won with a ko/tko stoppage to strikes over Roxana Velez.  She looked well prepared and ready for anything.  Since then she has now improved to 2-0 with a decision over Kaline Meideros and trains with IMBCT.  Her opponent Pam is from The Cellar and has a 3-0 record.  Online I found that she has one draw, a submission victory and one win by tko to strikes.  This is going to be an awesome women's battle and should be a real close fight.

Superheavyweight AM Title Fight Mike Baker (MSB 2 2-1)  vs Vito Resto (Gladiator BJJ 1-0)

In the superheavy weight amateur title fight Mike Baker defends his title against Vito Resto.  Mike trains with MSB and has a 2-2-1 record.  I was not able to find much information on Mike Baker but I did see that he lost to Garret Moldoff by ko/tko in rd 1 back in 2012.  His opponent Vito is from Gladiator BJJ and has a 1-0 record.  I was not able to find out any fight information on Vito either but being from Gladiator BJJ he will be well prepared.  As we all know the bigger the guys/gals are the harder they hit so this should be a war!

145lbs Title Fight AM Aslan Otcheyev (Gracie CT 1-0) vs Tim Ortiz (Spa City BJJ 5-0)

For the last fight of the evening at 145lbs in an amateur title fight Aslan Otcheyev takes on Tim Ortiz.  Aslan is from Gracie Ct and has a 1-0 record.  He won his first battle by submission in Rd 3 over David Espino at a previous cage titans event.  His opponent Tim is from Spa City BJJ and has a 2-0 record.  The record I found for him stated he was 5-0 with 4 of his wins by submission.  One of his wins was by ko/tko as well.  This will be a grappling match for sure and with a belt on the line, you know both fighters are going to leave it all in the cage.

There you have the complete breakdown of the upcoming show this Saturday at Premier FC in Agawam Mass.  As you have read there are many great match ups on the card which should make for an exciting night.  For just $20 to get you in the door the fights will be well worth the money.  Warchild will be there taking pictures for us and I will be there with the live play by play.  What fight are you looking forward to the most??  Let us know by commenting below.
