CES MMA XXXI 10/30/15 TEASER

CES returns with their 31st show to date and I know I sound like a broken record at times but this card is stacked!  It features all of the big pros from around New England who are going head to head on AXS TV.  The show will take place this Friday October 30th at the Twin River Casino and it is a great way to kick off your Halloween Festivities.  The card has 11 professional fights including the main event title fight between Chip Moraza-Pollard and Gil de Freitas.  CES has done an excellent job on this card and let me break it down for you.  Please keep in mind this might not be the exact fight order.

125 PRO DAVID BAXTER (USMMA 1-0) vs. BRANDON WARNE ( Bombsquad 0-0)

The first fight is between David Baxter and Brandon Warne at 125 lbs.  Baxter trains with USMMA and comes into this fight with a 1-0 record.  He won his first pro fight against Shane Decristoforo with a submission in Rd 1.  He would love to get another quick submission this Friday.  His opponent is Brandon Warne and he trains out of Team Bombsquad in New York.  He will be making his pro debut and as an amateur he had a 5-1 record.  As an amateur he seems very well rounded with wins by ko/tko, submissions and decision victories.  This is going to be a great back and forth battle and should get the crowd ready for a solid night of action.

185 PRO PAT McCROHAN (Gillett's MMA 0-0) vs. BUCK PINEAU (Team Irish 1-1)

At 185 lbs Pat McCrohan takes on Buck Pineau.  Pat trains with Gillett's MMA and will be making his pro debut.  As an amateur he went perfect 5-0 with 2 wins by ko/tko, 1 sub and 2 decision victories.  He also was Cage Titans 185 lb champ during his amateur career.  He will be more than ready to make his pro debut.  His opponent is Buck Pineau and he will be making the trip south from Maine to fight for CES.  He trains with Team Irish and comes into this fight with a 1-1 record.  He lost his first pro fight to Bryan Cromer as the fight was stopped to a hurt hand. In his last fight Buck kicked his way to victory with a decision over Terry Janoski.  I feel this one is going to come down to a decision and will be a close battle.

125 PRO JESSE GUTIERREZ (Connor's MMA 1-1) vs. CARLOS CANDELARIO (New Britain Judo 1-0)

Next up is Jesse Gutierrez and Carlos Candelario going head to head.  Jesse trains with Connor's MMA and comes into this fight with a 1-1 record.  He has 1 win by submission and one loss by submission.  Jesse is comfortable no matter where the fight goes as I have seen him stand and bang it out if needed.  His opponent is Carlos Candelario and trains with New Britain Judo.  Carlos comes into this fight with a 1-0 record with 1 win by submission against Josh Baker.  As an amateur Carlos went 5-0 including being PFC champ with 4 wins by submission and 1 by ko.  I don't see this one going the distance and I think it will be settled on the ground.

145 PRO TAYLOR TRAHAN (Team Link Hooksett 5-3) vs. SHANE MANLEY (Bombsquad 2-2)

Taylor Trahan will face off against Shane Manley at 145 lbs.  Trahan trains with Team Link Hooksett and comes into this fight with a 5-3 record.  For his wins, he has 2 wins by submission and 3 wins by decision.  For his losses, he lost 3 by ko/tko to strikes.  His opponent is Shane Manley and he trains with Bombsquad.  He comes into this fight with a 2-2 record.  For his wins he has 2 wins by decision and for his losses, he has one by ko/tko and 1 by submission.  This fight is absolutely going to be settled on the ground as these two are most comfortable there.

135 PRO DINIS  PAIVA (GF MMA 7-5) vs. KODY NORBY (Ronin MMA 4-3)

Next up is 135 lb fight between Dinis Paiva and Kody Nordby.  Paiva trains with Gracie Fitness MMA and comes into this fight with a 7-5 record.  He has 4 wins by ko/tko, 2 by sub and 1 by decision so far in his pro career.  For his losses, he lost 2 by sub, 2 by dec and 1 DQ.  He is currently riding a 4 fight win streak that he plans on keeping going!  His opponent is Kody Nordby and he trains with Ronin MMA.  He comes into this fight with a 4-3 record with 4 wins by submission.  For his losses, he lost 2 by sub and 1 by decision.  Both of these guys have great takedowns and control and are two fighters I have been following for a long time.  I am excited to see them go head to head and how they match up.

145 PRO ANDRE  SOUKHAMTHATH (Blackzillians 8-3) vs. CARLOS  GALINDO (Team Escorpion 10-3)

Andre Soukhamthath returns to the CES cage against Carlos Galindo at 145 lbs.  Dre trains with Blackzillians down in Florida and loves to comes to RI to fight in front of his home town crowd.  He has an 8-3 record with 4 by ko/tko, 3 sub and 1 decision victories.  His 3 losses have come all by way of decision.  He will have the home town crowd and loves to put on an exciting fight for the fans.  His opponent is Carlos Galindo  and he trains with Team Escopion.  He comes into this fight with a 10-3 record with 3 wins by ko/tko, 3 sub and 4 decisions.  For his losses, he lost 2 by sub and 1 by decision.  As you can see this is another great match up as both fighters on paper look virtually identical.

185 PRO ERIC SPICELY (Burrill's BJJ 7-0) vs. AARON JOHNSON (Defkon1 13-9)

At 185 lbs Eric Spicely steps back into the CES cage against Aaron Johnson.  Spicely trains with Tim Burrill's BJJ and comes into this fight with a perfect 7-0 record.  He has 2 wins by ko/tko, 4 by sub and 1 by decision in which 6 out of 7 of his fights were ended in the first round.  His opponent is Aaron Johnson who trains with Defkon1 and comes into this fight with a 13-9 record.  He has 1 ko/tko and 12 by way of submissions.  For his losses, he has 5 ko/tko, 3 sub and 1 by decisions.  He has submission wins over Brennan Ward and Greg Rebello and he would love to add one more submission win with Spicely.  Both guys are comfortable on the ground and I think that is where this fight will be taken very quickly.

HVY PRO GREG  REBELLO (Sityodtong 18-6) vs. MIKE MUCITELLI (Tai-Kai 7-2)

In a heavyweight showdown Greg Rebello takes on Mike Mucitelli.  Rebello trains with Sityodtong and comes into this fight with an 18-6 record.  He has 10 wins by ko/tko, 1 submission and 7 wins by decision.  For his losses, he lost 2 ko/tko, 2 by sub and 2 by decision.  Ribz is riding high 2 straight wins including a win over Tyler King and will be taking that momentum into this fight.  His opponent is Mike Mucitelli and he trains with Tai-Kai in New York.  He comes into this fight with a 7-2 record with 5 submissions and 1 decision.  For his losses, he lost 1 by ko/tko and 1 by decision.  Another thing to note, is the majority of Mike's fights have been with Bellator so he has had no easy fights.  This fight has fight of the night written all over it as Ribz got the heavy hands and Mike is deadly on the mat.
