CAGE TITANS XXVI 11/7/2015 TEASER

Cage Titans comes back this Saturday at Plymouth Memorial Hall with another night of live action mixed martial arts.  This will be the 26th show to date and in true typical Titan fashion it is stacked.  There is a total of 18 fights in which, 2 of them are title fights and 5 of them are pro.  The fights will be starting at 7pm and the doors will be opening at 6pm.  Headlining the fights for the night will be Sityodtong's Tateki Matsuda taking on Johnny Campbell from SSSF in a 125 lb showdown.  Let me break down the fight card for you all in its entirety.  Please keep in mind that this might not be the exact fight order.

125 AM Jared York (0-0, TriForce) vs Tim Hagan (0-0, Nostos)

At 125 lbs Jared York takes on Tim Hagan for the first fight of the night.  York trains with Triforce and will be making his amateur debut.  His opponent is Tim Hagan and he will also be making his amateur debut out of the Nostos MMA gym.  This fight is unpredictable as both fighters have never fought before but both are solid schools.

155 AM Derek Trahan (0-0, Santos BJJ) vs Alex Dolan (0-2, Victory)

Second fight of the night puts Derek Trahan against Alex Dolan at 155 lbs amateur.  Trahan trains with Santos BJJ and he will be making his amateur debut.  Being from a BJJ school he should be comfortable on the ground.  His opponent is Alex Dolan and he trains with Victory MMA.  He comes into this fight with an 0-2 record with 1 loss by ko/tko and one by submission.  Another closely matched fight which should result in another great battle.

135 AM Andres Rodriguez (2-1, Sityodtong) vs Rob Rios (2-3, Underdog)

Next up is at 135 lbs Andres Rodrigues challenges Rob Rios in the Titan cage.  Rodriguez trains with team Sityodtong and he comes into this fight with a 2-1 record.  For his wins, he won 1 by ko/tko and 1 by decision so far in his amateur career.  In his last fight, he lost a decision to Will Smith.  His opponent is Rob Rios and he trains with Underdog BJJ in CT.  He comes into this fight with a 2-3 record with 2 wins by ko/tko.  For his losses, he lost 1 by submission and 2 by way of decision.  I see this fight coming down to a decision.

135 AM Jessie Pires (1-7, Team BKJA) vs John Payne (1-2, Lauzon)

Jessie Pires steps back into the Cage Titans cage against John Payne at 135 lbs.  Pires trains with Team BKJA and comes into this fight with a 1-7 record with his sole win by submission.  For his losses, he lost 4 by ko/tko, 2 by sub and 1 by decision.  His opponent is John Payne and he trains with Lauzon's MMA.  He comes into this fight with a 1-2 record.  I wasn't to find all of his fight info but it looks like he lost 1 by sub and 1 by ko/tko back in 2007.  Both fighters have struggled and one of them will be adding one more win to their win column.

185 AM Sean Stone (0-0, WMMA) vs Shawn Bettincourt (1-1, Victory)

Sean Stone will face off against Shawn Bettincourt at 185 lbs.  Stone trains with WMMA and will be making his amateur debut.  His opponent is Shawn Bettincourt and he trains with Victory MMA.  He comes into this fight with a 1-1 record with 1 win by ko/tko.  He lost his last fight by submission up in Maine at Toe 2 Toe 3.  This should be another good battle.

125 AM James Palmer (0-0, F5 Fight Team) vs Richard Santiago (2-4, RAC)

At 125 lbs James Palmer takes on Richard Santiago.  Palmer trains with F5 Fight Team and he will be making his amateur debut.  His opponent is Richard Santiago and he trains with Rivera Athletics.  He comes into this fight with a 2-4 record with 1 win by ko/tko and 1 win by decision.  For his losses, he has 3 by submission and 1 by decision.  In this fight Santiago has the fight experience and he will look to use that to secure the W.

145 AM Aaron Hughes (0-0, TriForce) vs Joe Smith (0-0, Lauzon)

At 145 lbs Aaron Hughes takes on Joe Smith.  Hughes trains with Triforce MMA and he will be making his amateur debut.  His opponent is Joe Smith and he trains with Lauzon MMA and will also be making his amateur debut.  Each fighter has a clean slate and one of them will be starting their career off with a W while the other goes home with the loss.

Hvy AM Rob Brown (1-1, Santos BJJ) vs Zeal McGrew (0-0, Redline)

Next fight is a heavyweight match between Rob Brown and Zeal McGrew.  Brown trains with Santos BJJ and comes into this fight with a 1-1 record.  In his amateur career, he has won 1 decision and lost one decision so it is proven he has no problem going the distance.  His opponent is Zeal McGrew who trains with Redline MMA.  He will be making his amateur debut and being from Redline I know he will be battle ready.  Brown has the 2 fight experience but I don't think it will be much of a factor for Zeal.

170 AM Stephen Langlais (1-8, Team BKJA) vs Antoine Caparotta (0-0, SSSF)

At 170lbs Stephen Langlais will take on Antoine Caparotta.  Langlais trains with Team BKJA and comes into this fight with a 1-7 record.  Langlais won his very first fight for CFX against Keenan Raymond and since then has 8 straight losses.  Out of his 8 losses, 7 of them were decisions and one was ko/tko.  Don't let his record fool you though, he always puts on a good fight for the crowd.  His opponent is Antoine Caparotta and he trains with SSSF.  Antoine will be making his amateur debut and will be more than ready being from SSSF.

140 AM Carlos Valladares (0-0 F5 Fight Team) vs Julio Martinez (0-0, Juniko)

At a catch weight of 140 lbs Carlos Valladares takes on Julio Martinez.  Valladares trains with F5 Fight team and he will be making his amateur debut.  His opponent is Julio Martinez and he trains with Juniko and he will be making his amateur debut as well.  We will have to wait and see how this one pans out.

155 AM Dan Napolitano (0-0, Franklin Martial Arts) vs Bobby Baker (0-1, Victory)

Dan Napolitano will square off against Bobby Baker at 155 lbs amateur.  Napolitano trains with Franklin Martial Arts and will be making his amateur debut.  His opponent is Bobby Baker and he trains with Victory MMA.  He comes into this fight with an 0-1 record with one decision loss to John Douma.  He is still hungry for his first taste of victory and will be looking to do just that this Saturday!

115 AM Melissa Ann Infurna (0-0, MassBJJ) vs Hilarie Rose (1-1, USMMA)

At 115 lbs Melissa Ann Infurna takes on Hilarie Rose.  Infurna trains with Mass BJJ and will be making her amateur debut.  Knowing that she is from Mass BJJ means she will be ready for anything.  Her opponent is Hilarie Rose tho comes into this fight with a 1-1 record.  She trains with USMMA and won her first fight by head kick knockout in highlight reel victory.  In her second fight she lost by submission in Round 1.  In this fight I feel Infurna will try to test Rose on the ground so Rose will have to be prepared for that.

155 AM TITLE Joe Giannetti (5-0 SSSF) vs. Jacob Weeks (SBG East 3-1)

For the 155 lb Amateur Title Joe Giannetti takes on Jacob Weeks for the coveted title.  Giannetti trains with SSSF and comes into this fight with a perfect 5-0 record.  He has 2 wins by ko/tko and 3 wins by way of submission.  His opponent is Jacob Weeks and he trains with SBG East.  He comes into this fight with a 3-1 record with 3 wins via submission.  His sole loss came against Kevin Schneider in which he lost an unanimous decision.  This is going to be an awesome ground battle and will definitely have the crowd pumped up.

155 PRO Sean Nichols (1-3 Sityodtong) vs. Devin Carrier (0-0 Lauzon MMA)

For the first pro fight of the night Sean Nichols takes on Devin Carrier at 155 lbs. Nichols trains with Sityodtong and comes into this fight with a record of 1-3.  He has 1 win by submission against Keegan Hornstra.  For his losses, he lost 2 by submission and 1 by decision.  His opponent is Devin Carrier and he trains with Lauzon MMA.  Devin will be making his pro debut and as an amateur had a record of 3-3.

190 PRO Ralph Johnson (FAF 10-14) vs. Roger Brackett (5-4 Lakeville MMA)

At a catchweight of 190 lbs Ralph Johnson will face off against Roger Brackett.  Johnson trains with FAF and comes into this fight with a 10-14 record.  All 10 of his wins come by way of knockout and he would love to add one more to it.  Ralph is fresh off a ko victory from the last Cage Titans event and is riding that momentum into this fight.  For his losses, he lost the majority of them by submission.  His opponent is Roger Brackett who trains with Lakeville MMA.  He comes into this fight with a 5-4 record with 2 wins by ko/tko, 2 sub and 1 decision win so far in his pro career.  For his losses, he lost 3 by submission and 1 by decision.  This fight should be a stand up battle and I certainly don't see it going the distance.

145 PRO Manny Bermudez (2-0 SSSF) vs. Scott Gorgone (2-0 Mass BJJ)

At 145 lbs Manny Bermudez will square off against Scott Gorgone.  Bermudez trains with SSSF and comes into this fight with a 2-0 record.  He has 1 win by ko/tko and 1 win by submission so far in his pro career.  Manny has pretty much steamrolled through anyone who has fought him and has a plethora of submissions in his arsenal.  His opponent is Scott Gorgone and he trains with Mass BJJ.  He also has a perfect record of 2-0 as a professional.  Both of his wins came way of submission.  This fight is going to be a ground battle and its going to be a real treat to watch.  Both of these guys are facing their toughest opponent to date as a pro and fight fans you don't want to miss it!

170 PRO TITLE Will Santiago ( 4-3 F5 Fight Team) vs. Sean Lally (4-1 GFMMA)

Next fight is at 170lbs pro and it is between Will Santiago and Sean Lally for the title.  Santiago trains with F5 Fight team and comes into this fight with a 4-3 record.  For his wins, he has all 4 wins by ko/tko.  For his losses, he lost 2 by ko/tko and one by decision.  His opponent is Sean Lally and he trains with GFMMA.  Lally comes into this fight with a 4-1 record with wins by ko/tko and by submission.  This fight is unpredictable as anything can happen when both of these bulls butt horns this weekend.  I see this fight being an utter dogfight and battle for takedowns.

125 PRO Johnny Campbell (11-6 SSSF) vs. Tateki Matsuda (10-7 Sityodtong)

In the main event Johnny Campbell rematches Tateki Matsuda at 125 lbs.  In the first battle back in 2012 Matsuda won the decision but now the rematch is at a lower weight so anything can happen! Campbell trains out of SSSF and comes into this fight with an 11-6 record.  For his wins he has 5 wins by ko/tko, 1 sub and 5 decision victories.  For his losses, he lost 1 by ko/tko, 2 by sub and 3 by decision.  His opponent is Tateki Matsuda and he trains with Sityodtong.  He comes into this fight with a 10-7 record with 4 wins by ko/tko, 1 sub, and 5 decision wins.  For his losses, he lost 6 by decision and 1 by DQ.  Tateki is a great striker who just keeps coming forward no matter what.  I expect this fight to be just like the first and that is an all out war.

There you have the complete breakdown of the night of action that will be taking place this Saturday.  Come see the awesome fights which is sure to be a packed Plymouth Memorial Hall.  It is definitely one of my favorite venues to see fights in.  Warchild and I will be making the trip east to cover the show for you all so make sure you all stay right here with the live play by play.  I gotta give a shout out to Mike Polvere for always keeping us in the loop of all the latest happenings as he closes out the year with a bang for Cage Titans.
