Warchild and I maneuvered around downtown Manchester and found some parking at the parking garage. We quickly made our way to the Radisson Hotel and was quickly greeted by our friend Ryan Fennelly. My first impression is this is a very nice venue with more capacity then their previous venue in Salem NH. The sound system that the DJ was using was very loud and clear so there should be no way I miss a fight time! I found my seat next to my friends Lynne and Domenico and now I am ready for some fights. John Vena is the host and Kelly MacDonald is the head photographer. Please follow along as I recap the night. Alexey Soroka wins unanimous decision 30-27
125 AM KICK Crystal Demers (2-0) Team Link vs. Lisa Dellarusso (0-1) Start BJJ NH
Lisa starts us off with the first kick to the body. Lisa is connecting with some good combos. Crystal fires back with a combo of her own. Now the ladies are finding their groove and swinging away.

Not that I can see from everyone standing in front of me but it appears that Cruz won according to the crowd.

130 AM MMA Fouad Shain 0-0 (F5 Fight Team) vs. Carlos Vespaziano 1-0 (Juniko)Not that I can see from everyone standing in front of me but it appears that Cruz won according to the crowd.

Good back and forth battle. Carlos is looking for the takedown and he gets it.

Rd 2: Carlos connects with a head shot that appears to have grazed Fouad and he falls to the mat. He is in half guard. Fouad tries to get back up and Carlos takes his back for a brief second and then falls off.

Rd 3: They are swinging away and Fouad is trying for a takedown but can't get the finish. They break and are back to the center. Fouad connects with a good kick to the leg. Foud is warming up now and connects with more combos. He hits him with a punch to the liver that drops Carlos. He follows it up with some more punches and gets the ref stoppage.

110 AM MMA Linda Selima (0-0) Triumph vs. Allison Blackwell (0-1) Tri-Force
They clinch and are exchanging knees in the center of the cage. Linda is in the guard and gets in a few punches to the body before the round ends.

Rd 2: Linda gets the takedown and has the side. She postures up and the crowd roars. They are up against the cage now and Linda is getting in some ground and pound as the round ends.

Rd 3: Allison is trying for a guillotine and pulls Linda down to the mat. Linda eventually pulls her head out and is dropping some heavy ground and pound. Allison grabs a hold of the leg but runs out of time.

170 AM MMA Jordan Boisvert (2-2) Triumph vs. Rondel Clark (0-0) Interested
Rondel rushes in and connects with some punches that drops Jordan to the mat. He gets in some ground and pound and gets the stoppage.

125 AM MMA Alyssa Marini (0-0) Woo Kickboxing vs. Anna Brown (0-1) Start BJJ NH
Both fighters are being very active from the start. The exchanges seem to be pretty even. Alyssa gets in a left that drops Anna out cold.

195 AM MMA Jonathan McNeil (2-1) Triumph vs.Thomas Lee Davis (3-1) Juniko
I couldn't see very well at the beginning so bear with me. Tommy connects with an overhand right. Jon has Tommy pressed up against the cage as the round ends.
Rd 2: Jon goes high with a kick to the upper body. Tommy fires a kick right back. Tommy gets hit with a finger in the eye and takes a minute then the fight continues. They collide and Tommy gets in a knee to the body before the break. Tommy connects with a leg kick that snaps so loud the crowd roars.
Davis 10-9
Rd 3: Both fighters are exchanging kicks. Tommy connects with a high kick. Jon goes in for a takedown and he yanks Tommy to the mat but they bounce right back up. They break and Tommy connects with an outside leg kick.

145 AM MMA Nick Fiore (3-1) Renzo Gracie NH vs. Carl Langston (6-8) Young's MMA
Carl kicks high that just misses. Nick trips Carl and he quickly covers him. Carl stands up and Nick slams him to the mat. He takes his back and is working hard for the finish with ground and pound. He gets the stoppage.
Nick Fiore defeats Carl Langston via ref stoppage to strikes at 1:45 in Rd 1.
135 AM MMA Jake Pilla (4-2) Spero's/SLS vs. Jack Greene (2-4) Cagestrikers
Jake rushes in and gets the quick takedown. They are back up very quickly. Jake has an arm triangle on and chokes Jack out cold from standing. Wow!!

Alyssa Marini won the amateur fighter of the night award.
140 PRO MMA Kenny Rodriquez (0-1) Team Link vs. Jeff Silva (1-3) Start BJJ NH
They are both swinging for the fences. Jeff connects with a straight right. They clinch and twirl to the center then break. Kenny with a good leg kick to the inner thigh. Kenny is working the leg kicks and he connects with a punch that drops Jeff. He jumps into his guard and is getting in some ground and pound. Jeff works his way up and they are back swinging. Jeff connects with a right. 10 second bell sounds and Kenny turns it on and gets in a combo.

Rd 2: Kenny starts the round off with an outside leg kick. Kenny gets in another leg kick and Jeff does a spinning backfist. Kenny takes it and slams him to the mat. Jeff works a triangle and gets the tap.

160 PRO Jay Ellis (13-68) Neutral Ground vs. Lucas Cruz (9-4) Sityodtong
They clinch and Jay gets in a few jabs. Jay gets in a right that stuns Lucas. Lucas takes him down and is in his guard. Lucas gets in some punches and Jay gives up his back. He works the rear naked choke for the tap.

150 PRO MMA Brandon Odom 0-1 (WreckRoom) vs. Dylan Lockard 2-0 (Start BJJ NH)
Both fighters are missing so far with their punches. Dylan ducks under a punch and takes Brandon down. He is in the guard and looking for some ground and pound. He moves to half guard and then and drops some killer elbows and gets the stoppage.

185 PRO MMA Mitch Whitesel 17-27 (WreckRoom) vs. Sean Lally (5-2) Juniko
Lally connects with a leg kick. They clinch and Mitch reverses. Mitch is trying for a takedown and get him down briefly. Not much action and Kevin resets it to the center. Mitch is holding Sean up against the cage as the round ends.
Whitesel 10-9
Rd 2: They clinch and Mitch slams Lally to the mat. Lally sweeps and is on top dropping bombs. Ref has seen enough and stops the fight.

They fall to the mat and Trahan is on top in guard. Very fast action on the ground. Trahan has Vovka's back. Vovka fights through and it turns out of it. He is on top peppering him with punches to the side. Trahan stands up and Vovka slams him to the mat. They work their way up again and Trahan slams Vovka to the mat. They are back up and Vovka gets the last slam as the bell sounds.

Rd 2: Vovka gets the takedown Trahan is looking for an armbar but Vovka recognizes it. He moves to the side and gets in two hammerfists. They are back to their feet and Trahan is looking for the takedown. Vovka gets a guillotine and as they go to the mat it sinks in deeper for the tap.
Vovka Clay defeats Taylor Trahan via tapout to guillotine at 3:10 in Round 2. Such an awesome ground battle.
174 PRO MMA Wilfredo Santiago (7-4) Jackson's MMA vs. Ray Shawdee (5-2) NETT
Wilfredo connects with a combo that drops Ray. He finishes him off with some ground and pound for the stoppage.

Combat Zone returns on September 29th 2017 for their 63rd installment so make sure you mark your calendars. We hope you enjoyed our review and I am sorry that I didn't have the best of view to keep you all up to date. The media layout just needs a little adjustment and I am confident that Combat Zone will adjust as this is only their 3rd event at the Radisson. The fights were awesome and the venue was really nice.
