Cage Titans July 21st Dover NH Full Teaser (updated 7-19-2012)

We are less than a week away from Cage Titans show titled "Live Free and Fight Hard" which is set to take place in Dover New Hampshire at the Dover Ice Arena on July 21st, 2012.  Fights will start at 7:35PM so plan accordingly.  For the evening they have a solid 14 fight card which included 4 pro fights and I believe if I am reading the card correctly one amateur title fight.  You can still get your tickets by clicking here or of course you can get them at the door.  This is a month of a few firsts for the Cage Titans team.  One, being the first time they are having a show in New Hampshire and also the first time they are having two shows in a month.  In fact they are two shows in a two week span!!  Can fight fans handle all this MMA in two weeks?? Heck yeah, we can!!  Cage Titans is the only show you can see the lovely Katryna as a ring girl and for this show the DJ will be DJ Maggnumb.  For those of you who are not familiar with the Cage Titans team, Mike Polvere is the matchmaker/promoter and the always perky Miss Brandie Light is the PR person.  Make sure you thank them and show them your love when you see them.  Ok enough babble...onto the teaser...

The first ammy fight will be Ryan Lucas against AJ Davis in the 175lb weight.  Ryan trains with team Pitbull which I am not very familiar with.  He will be making his amateur debut this Saturday evening.  His opponent AJ trains with Team Kaze.  He comes into this fight with a 1-1 record.  His first amateur win came against Tim Grovo back at NEF I where he won via rear naked choke in round 1.  His only career loss came against Jamel Roy where he lost via submission arm bar in round 2.  Then we have Isaiah Queen against Greg Hadley in the 185lb division.  Isaiah is from Team Anubis which is in Rollinsford NH and Greg trains with Combat Sports.  Both fighters will be making their amateur debut.  There is so much raw talent of amateur fighters in the Vermont/New Hampshire/Maine area, so I really can't predict how any of these fights will go.

Brett Morris is set to face off against Derek Shorey in the 145lb division.  Brett trains with Rivera Athletics which is in Milford MA.  Brett has a record of 3-1 and has wins over Matt Doherty, Shayne Stephenson and Nick Villafane.  He has two submission and one decision victories in his career.  His only loss came to decision loss at a previous Cage Titans against a wicked tough Sergio Cabrera.  Derek trains with The Shop which is located in NH and has a record of 2-4.  His last fight was a loss to John Raio up in Maine at NEF III where he lost via guillotine in round 2.  He has fought for Cage Titans twice before and he is a very entertaining fighter to watch.  Derek will want to keep this fight standing where he will have the advantage and I imagine Brett will want to take it to the ground and get the submission.  Next fight is between Doug Stone and Allan Josselyn.  This  fight is at a catchweight of 190lbs.  Doug trains with Sityodtong NorthShore and will be making his amateur debut.  Allan trains with Team Kaze and has a record of 1-1.  He lost one fight via KO punch and won his first ammy fight via KO punch at the last NEF show back in June.  This should be a fast action fight so don't blink.

Then there is Chris Violette taking on Kurt Daniels in the 145lb division.  Chris will be making his amateur debut and trains with Team Burgess which is located in Manchester NH.  Kurt trains with The Factory which is located in Leominster MA and comes into this fight with a record of 0-1.  He lost his first fight via ref stoppage to strikes in round 2 at Combat Zone 39.  Both fighters will be meeting in the octagon and only one will walk away with their first amateur win.  Who will it be??  We will find out this Saturday night.  Kevin Haley is fighting Nolan Brown in the 205lb weight class.  Kevin trains with Team Anubis and has a record of 1-0.  His only career win was over Rick Garland at GFL 12 back last July of 2011 where he won via ref stoppage to strikes in Rd 2.  His opponent, Nolan trains with Team Havoc and comes into this fight with a record of 0-1.  Ironically enough Nolan lost to Rick Garland at GFL 13 via decision back in Sept of 2011.  Theoretically with MMA math you would think Kevin is the favored one because of the better record that he beat Rick Garland but we all know this is MMA and MMA math doesn't work!! Anything can happen, I can't wait for this one.

Ruso Khubecov (1-0, Connors MMA) is set to face John Healey at a catchweight of 165lbs.  Ruso is filling in for Isaiah Gomez who was just recently injured.  Heal up quick Isaiah!  Ruso trains with Connors MMA and has a record of 1-0.  John trains with The Shop and comes into this fight with a 3-2 record.  I believe he lost his first two fights and then came back and won his last three.  I have seen two of his fights with NEF where he won via submissions.  He is a warrior and is not afraid to come from behind and earn the victory.  This fight has tremendous potential to be the fight of the night so pay attention fight fans!  Peter San Antonio will be fighting Toby Oden in the 170lb division.  Peter trains with Team Pitbull and has a record of 5-3.  I wasn't able to find info on all of his fights but he has 3 submission wins and one split decision win in his career.  He has three losses and one of them was to Cody Anderson. His opponent Toby trains with Rivera Athletics and is undefeated with a record of 3-0.  I wasn't able to get info on all of Toby's fight but I can tell you he won one of his fights in 6 seconds via KO back in 2010!  Again fight fans we are getting to the meat of the card and this could be another knockout fight!   The last fight on the undercard is between Will Chan and RJ Letendre at a catchweight of 160lbs.  Will trains with South Shore Sports Fighting and has a record of 3-1.  He has won two of his fights via way of the fists and the other win was via split decision.  His only loss came to Joe "Lights Out" Pingitore back at Cage Titans 4. RJ trains with The Shop and has a record of 2-1.  He won one of his fights via rear naked choke and won the other via decision.  His only loss came at CZ 39 where he lost from a close split decision.  Will will want to keep this fight standing and RJ will most likely want to take it to the ground.  This is a great matchup here folks.

Now onto the main card which is the 155lb amateur title fight between Vovka Clay and Jason Skip Libby.  Vovka is quickly making a name for himself in a big way and comes into this fight with a record of 2-0.  He trains with Team Triumph in NH.  Vovka's two wins came via submissions and he is looking to improve to 3-0.  Not if Libby has anything to say about it.  Libby comes into this fight with a 3-1 record and he trains with The Shop.  Jason has two decision wins and one ref stoppage to strikes victory.  His only loss came back in 2009 at AFO Halloween Havoc where he lost by guillotine.  This is a killer matchup and only one will leave the cage that night with the 155lb ammy belt.  Now the rest of the cards is professional fights which means elbows and heel hooks!  This first pro fight of the evening will be a big one and by big I mean a heavyweight fight!  Artie Mullen is taking on Adam Rivera.  Artie is an independent fighter out of Southern Maine and has a record of 2-9.  He has fought many big name guys and always puts on a good show.  Adam Rivera trains with The Shop.  If you are keeping track this is the fifth fighter from The Shop fighting on this card and he won't be the last.  Adam has a record of 2-2.  Not alot of information on Adam but I can tell you he is a coach and has had a 7 year lay off.  Will he be rusty or be all business??  We will find out real soon.  Don't blink on this fight!

Andrew Robertson will be fighting Devin Powell in the 155lb division.  Andrew trains with MMA of Southern Maine and has a record of 0-2.  He has losses to Bruce Boyington from ko who has just recently gone viral from his spinning head kick fight and to Jaime Harrison where he lost via ref stoppage to the lobster claw!  His opponent Devin trains with The Shop and has a record of 1-0.  His pro win came at Combat Zone 41 where he won a unanimous decision against Anthony Loycano.

In a bantamweight showdown, we have Johnny Campbell against Adam Toussaint.  Johnny Cupcakes Campbell is from SSSF and has a record of 3-2.  He is well rounded figher and has fought many beasts.  His last fight he fought Tateki Matsuda which was a three round war that went to decision.  In his pro career he has victories over Christian Rivera, Chris Rowley and Dominic Warr.  His opponent Adam trains with Team Havoc and has a record of 5-4.  He has wins over Chris Rowley and Dominic Warr as well.  I can see this fight being a big standup battle.  Johnny has proved he can stand and bang with the best of 'em and I think this fight will be no different.  Now the last fight is 145lb battle between Shaun Marmas and Bill Jones.  Shaun trains with Integrated Martial Arts and has a record of 3-3-1.  He has two submission wins and one other win from ref stoppage.  His three losses he lost two from decision and one from knockout.  His opponent Bill Jones is from The Shop and has a record of 10-6.  Bill is a wicked cool guy and I had the luxury of meeting him at a Burger King the same night on our way heading home from NEF III.  Out of his 10 victories he has 3 KO, 5 submission, 1 DEC and the other one was a win from a DQ.  He has fought tough fights his whole career which includes split decision win over Matt Bessette and a sub win over Lee Metcalf.  Bill Jones asked Mike Polvere to do a Cage Titans in their home of New Hampshire and Mike has granted him his wish.  I guarantee you Bill isn't going to disappoint us by not putting on a show!!

That last fight concludes this edition of our teaser.  We will be back next week for the Cage Titans teaser for their July 27th show where they return back to Plymouth MA.  I am excited for this show because it is my first Cage Titans show I will be attending.  I always say this but the card is subject to change and I apologize if any of my records or team names were wrong.  Just let us know and I will gladly change them.  Again you can get your tickets at the door or at the link here.  Tickets start at just $40 bux and let me tell you New Hampshire fans, it is well worth it.  Thanks for reading and stay right here for all your local news at westernmassmma.com
