We arrived at the Hu Ke Lau around 6:30pm and found our spots. The place is packed with fight fans ordering the awesome Polynesian food here in Chicopee Mass. There will be a total of 8 amateur fights tonight which in my opinion is the perfect amount. Warchild will be here taking photos. The Man Zack Lynch is also here taking photos for MMAPhotography.com. DJ Arianna is spinning the beats to warm up the crowd before the fights start. This is a sold out show, there are only 14 tickets available this afternoon and I am sure they are gone now. The Warrior Nation Girls are walking around selling tickets for the 50/50 raffle in which the money is going towards the Wounded Warrior Project. John Vena is our host for the evening and he is working double duty tonight as he is singing the National Anthem. Move over Harry Jones! The refs are Brian Minor and Steve Rita. Five Warrior Nation Girls have made it into the cage in the introduction so that means we are about to start! For local celebs I have seen Doomsday Howard and Jon Manley. Follow along with us.
145lbs Joe Leonard (Team Ravenous 1-2) vs. Jesus Santiago (Strike Zone MMA 1-1)
Jesus rushes in and Joe is standing his ground. Jesus is closing the gap and getting in some good combos to the head and body. Joe is eating lots of shots but he is connecting with the jab. Jesus backs Joe back up to the corner and eating some more shots but he is countering back nicely.

Rd 2: Joe starts us off with a leg kick. Joe is working the jab. Jesus is getting tired and he goes for a takedown. He gets it and Joe pushes him over and takes the full mount and is working for a rear naked choke. He gets in some hammerfists and Jesus turns. Joe works the arm triangle and gets the tap.

170lbs Mikey Sweet (Team Link Noho 0-0) vs. John LaMontagne (Independent 0-1)
Mikey rushes in for a takedown but is stuffed. They are swinging away. Mikey picks up John and slams him down hard. Mike takes the side after he slips out of an armbar attempt. He passes to full mount. John bucks him off and is now on top in the guard. John gets in a punch to the head before Mikey bucks him off and they are back to their feet. Mikey gets in a right hand and works a combo after that. John is eating some big uppercuts as the round ends.

Rd 2: John misses with a right and Mikey takes him down. Mikey finishes him off with some ground and pound for the stop.

135 lbs Alex Vinarsky (GFV 0-0) vs. Jecksan Tirado(NE Combat 0-0)
Both fighters are being very cautious. Jecksan connects with an outside leg kick. Alex counters back with a kick to the midsection. Alex is throwing some high kicks but they are being blocked for now. Jecksan connects with a punch and Alex rushes in with a combo. Alex gets in an inside leg kick and then a kick to the body. Jecksan misses with a high kick and Alex counters back with a kick to the back section that sends Jecksan stumbling back as the round ends.

Rd 2: Alex pushes Jecksan back and they clinch. They break. Jecksan goes for a takedown and they fall to the ground. Alex goes for a guillotine but Jecksan pulls his head out and is now on top in guard. He looks up then slams a hammerfirst down. Alex is getting good movement from the bottom but Jecksan is maintaining his position and getting in the ground and pound.

Rd 3: Jecksan starts us of with a kick. Alex connects with a kick of his own. Alex is turning the heat on and working his kicks. Alex goes for a takedown and gets it right as the round ends.

145lbs Shawn O'Dou (Team Ravenous 0-0) vs. Kevin Aurelien (Calasanz MMA 0-0)
They clinch and Shawn gets in some uppercuts before he gets a takedown. He is in half guard and looking to get in some ground and pound. He passes to full mount and lays down some major ground and pound for the ref stoppage.

140 lbs Steve Karr (GFV 0-1) vs. Allen Edgecomb (Shaolin Kempo 1-1-1)
They are going at it right off the bat. Steve goes for the takedown and gets it but is caught in a guillotine. They are at a stalemate for a minute and Steve slips his head out. Steve gets some shots to the head before he is bucked off and they are back to their feet. They get in a few punches as the round ends.
Steve 10-9...I gave him the round because he was on top and stole the round the last 10 seconds. Really could go either way due to Allen's submission attempt.
Rd 2: Allen starts us off with a leg kick. Steve goes for a takedown and Allen connects with a knee to the body. Allen reverses and is then reversed again. Steve is fighting for a takedown but Allen is defending nicely. They break and are back to the center of the cage. Steve eats a leg kick and gets the takedown. He is on top in guard and trying to posture up as the round ends.

Rd 3: They are swinging away. Steve connects with some combos. Steve is clinching him up against the cage but Allen is defending the takdown. Steve goes for a takedown and Allen ends up landing on top in guard. He is working some ground and pound and trying to get the finish as the round ends.

Tim rushes in and connects with a right hand that knocks him out cold. Wow!!

Heavywt Ray Miclette (NE Combat 2-0) vs. Ed Nook (CT United BJJ 0-0)
Ray starts us off with a leg kick. Ed gets a leg kick of his own. Ray reaches up and gets in a right hand. Ed gets in a combo and clinches Ray up against the cage. Ed gets in two good knees to the body. Ray pushes Ed off and tries to get away. Ed sneaks in and corners him into the back of the cage and lets out a barrage of punches. One connects cleanly and Ray goes down. Ref stops the fight.

185lbs Garret Kulik (GFV 1-0) vs. Max Evans (Strikezone MMA 1-0)
Garret starts us off with a leg kick. Evans is connecting with some good right hands. Garret is using his leg kicks to keep Max back. Max is overpowering Garrett with combos. He is eating some major shots. Garret's team throws in the towel. Garret eats some more shots and the ref stops the fight. Wow!!

During one of the intermissions they had a 50/50 raffle pick. Winner won 460 dollars and is a 155lb fighter who is trying to get a fight. He gave all his money back and Jesse promises he will be on the next card! Jesse Camp announces for fight of the night is Joe Leonard and Jesus Santiago which was unanimous between all 5 judges. I agree with this decision, the fight was a come from behind victory and the crowd was really loud during that fight. It was an awesome night of fights for a sold out show. As Jesse Camp said it is the only place that he knows where you can eat Polynesian food and watch mma fights. Thanks to Warrior Nation for allowing us to cover the event.
