PREMIER FC 20 LIVE REVIEW 7/30/2016



We found our spot by the cage and the fight fans are already packed in here.  Kelly MacDonald is the head photographer for PFC and our photographer is Warchild.  There is a large screen set up for the fans in case they have a bad view of the action.  There are a total of 18 fights on the night and 7 of them are pro.  The refs on the night are Steve Rita and Dan so should be a nice smooth night.  The announces is Mr Funnyman Marty Caproni who has done every PFC I believe.  Follow along as I recap the night.









175 AM Ray Johns (Thunder 0-10) vs. Jason Showers (Ambition MMA 0-0)

Jason presses Ray up against the cage looking for the takedown.  Ray is putting pressure on the neck and looking for the guillotine.  He pulls him down to the mat and Jason eventually pops his head free.   He gets in a few hammerfists and gets pushed to half guard.  Ray sweeps and is now on top in guard.

Johns 10-9

Rd 2:  Jason rushes in with a jumping kick and gets taken down.  Ray moves to full mount and gets in some hammer fists.  Jason shrimps and gets some space and ends up on top in guard.  He postures up and connects with a few hammers.  Jason picks Ray up and slams him to the mat as the round ends.

Showers 10-9

Rd 3:  They close the distance and Ray sinks in a good guillotine and gets the tap.

125 AM Lisa Blaine (2-1 Speedschool MMA) vs. Kerri Kenneson (Team Link Hooksett 1-1)

Kerri starts the round off with an outside leg kick.  Both girls are working their kicks.  Lisa connects with a head kick.  Kerri clinches up and gets in a couple of knees to the body.  Kerri controls the round with some more knees.

Kenneson 10-9

Rd 2:  They clinch up and Kerri is working her knees to the body again.  Kerri works the takedown via a trip and now moves to the side.  Kerri moves to full mount and gets in some hammerfists.  Lisa turns and Kerri works a rear naked choke for the tap.

125 AM Mike Kimble (Thunder 1-1) vs. Zachary Searle (0-0 DCNU)

They clinch and fall to the mat quick.  They both stand together and Zach is looking for the takedown and gets it.  Mike quickly gets back to his feet.  Mike gets in a good punch as they break.  Mike gets the takedown and Zach puts on a slick triangle.  Mike works some hammerfists as the round ends while Zach is putting pressure with the triangle.  Wow!!

Kimble 10-9 real close round

Rd 2:  Mike starts the round off with 3 outside leg kicks.  Zach dives for a takedown and gets it.  Mike sweeps and is now in guard.  Zach works a triangle and Mike slams him down.  Zach rolls into an inverted triangle and cranks the arm for the tap.

170 AM Jason Helger ( 1-1 New England United) vs. Dennis Brown (Ambition MMA 0-0)

Brown gets the takedown and Jason sweeps for the top position.  He moves to full mount and postures up.  Crowd cheers and as he gets in some ground and pound.  Dennis sweeps and ends the round on top.

Brown 10-9

Rd 2:  Dennis connects with jumping knee that drops Jason.  He finishes him off with some ground and pound for the ref stoppage.

105 AM Marisa Messer-Belenchia (2-1 Ultimate MMA) vs. Laken Jowers (2-2 Josh Stanley)

They clinch and Marisa is looking for the takedown.  She eventually gets the takedown via trip and moves to full mount.  She is looking for the kimura but can't get the finish.

Belenchia 10-9

Rd 2:  Marisa presses Laken up against the cage.  Laken defends it and gets the reverse.  Marisa gets the takedown and has the side.  She passes to full mount and is looking for the kimura.  She gets in a few punches as the round ends.

Rd 3:  Marisa is looking for the takedown again.  Lakes separates and connects with a right.  Marisa looks for the takedown again and Laken defends.  Laken tries for two hip tosses but Marisa is too strong and keeps her balance.  Marisa gets a takedown as the round ends.

155 AM Aaron Reverdes (Juniko 0-1) vs. Rob Grillo (0-0 Thunder)

Rob goes for the takedown and Aaron ends up on top.  They both stand up and Aaron takes him down.  He has the north south position.  Rob turns and Aaron is looking for the rear naked choke.  Rob stands up while Aaron still has his back as the round ends.

Reverdes 10-9

Rd 2:  Aaron connects with a kick to the body.  Aaron is connecting with some solid punches.  The crowd is roaring sensing the finish.  He gets the ref stoppage.

155 AM Davon Zimmmerman (RGTF 3-4) vs. Jesse Kosakowski (CTMMA 1-0)

Both fighters very active.  Davon catches a kick and counters as Jesse ducks.  Jesse gets the takedown and moves to full mount.  Davon turns and Jesse is trying for the rear naked choke.  Davon defends it and turns out of it.  Jesse works some more ground and pound.

Kosakowski 10-9

Rd 2:  Davon connects with a head kick and somehow Jesse is still standing.  Jesse gets the takedown and takes the side.  He works an armbar for the tap.

Premier FC announces a fight for their October 22nd show between Fred Mandrachia and Joe Reverdes.

120 AM Tammy Worrick (2-2 Ambition) vs. Hannah Murello (2-1 Triumph BJJ)

Heinous Hannah gets the takedown and moves to full mount.  Tammy reverses and is now in guard.  Hannah looks for the armbar and gets slammed to the mat.  Tammy is out and backs off and lets Hannah up.  Hannah jumps in with a kick to the body.  Hannah is working the knees and gets the takedown.  She is on top in full mount as the round ends.

Murello 10-9

Rd 2:  Tammy throws a kick and Hannah takes her down.  Hannah goes for full mount and Tammy sweeps.  Hannah is looking for the armbar again and Tammy rips her arm free.  They are back standing and Tammy connects with a combo.  Hannah takes Tammy down again and is in half guard.  She moves to full mount and gets in some ground and pound as the round ends.

Murello 10-9

Rd 3:  Hannah pulls guard.  Tammy postures up and gets in two hammerfists.  Hannah has a triangle and gets the tapout for the win.

135 AM Rob Rios (Underdog BJJ 2-4) vs. Lou Finateri (CTMMA 5-7)

Rob connects with a left.  Lou picks up Rob and puts him to the mat.  Rob bounces right back up and Lou is looking for the takedown.  Lou keeps looking for the takedown and Rob stuffs the attempts.

Finateri 10-9

Rd 2:  Both fighters are swinging away.  Lou calms the fight down and gets the takedown.  Rob is trying to get back to his feet and he does.  Rob is looking for the takedown and can't get it.  Lou goes for the takedown and gets it as the round ends.

Rd 3:  Lou goes for takedown and Rob gets the top position.  Lou works his way up and is looking for the double leg.  He eventually gets it and controls the rest of the round.  Rob is working his way up and Lou has his back.

185 AM Pat Casey (Link 3-1) vs. Chris Williams (Thunder 1-1)

Pat gets the takedown and is in half guard.  He postures up and gets in 3 hammerfists.  He moves to full mount and is looking to drop bombs.  Pat looks for a kimura and Chris sweeps and they are back to their feet.  Pat connects with a leg kick and a heavy right to the head.

Casey 10-9

Rd 2:  Pat ducks under a punch and gets the takedown.  He is in half guard.  Chris pushes him off and Pat dives back into guard.  Chris stands back to his feet and Pat connects with a right.  They slug it out and Pat gets a takedown as the round ends.

Rd 3:  Chris goes for a kick and Pat takes him down with a slam.  Chris pushes him off and Pat dives back to the side.  Chris pushes off and they are back to their feet.  Pat gets another takedown and the crowd roars.

145 TITLE AM Chris Disonell (Gracie 3-2) vs. Shelton Sales (Josh Stanley 7-3)

Shelton starts it off with an inside leg kick.  Chris catches a kick and takes Shelton down.  Shelton works his way up and slams Chris to the mat.  Shelton has his back but is falling off.  Chris comes out the back door and makes him pay with a right.  Shelton dives for a takedown but he is stuffed.  They both connect with a right.  Chris goes for a guillotine and is looking for the tap.

Rd 2:  Shelton looks for the takedown and gets it.  Shelton is looking for the rear naked choke and Chris hangs on.  Shelton looks for a takedown and is stuffed.  Chris turns him and is in half guard.  Chris gets in two heavy fists as Shelton stands back up.  Shelton dives for a takedown and is stuffed as the round ends.

Real close round could go either way

Rd 3:  Chris gets in a knee to the body.  He gets in some hammerfists and moves to full mount.  He is trying hard for the finish and gets the ref stoppage.

145 PRO Erick Rodriques  (Link 1-0) vs. Dan Dubuque (DCNU 2-1)

Erick gets the takedown and Dan pops back up.  Dan connects with a knee to the body.  Dan gets hit in the cup and takes a minute.  Dan gets in a leg kick and Erick gets the takedown.  Erick gets in a hammerfist and Dan spins and grabs the leg.  Dan goes to stand up and Erick connects with a right.  Dan has Erick's back standing as the round ends.

Rodriques 10-9

Rd 2:  Erick connects with a leg kick.  Dan connects with a kick of his own.  Dan gets in a combo that sends Erick back.  Dan trips Erick down to the mat.  He is working the half guard.  Erick pushes him off and Dan gets in some kicks to the leg of downed Erick.  They are back to their feet and exchanging kicks.  Dan connects with another combo as the round ends.

Dubuque 10-9

Rd 3:  Erick connects with some leg kicks.  Dan ties him up and is looking for the takedown.  He partially gets it but Erick bounces back to his feet.  They both scramble and Dan ends up on top in half guard.  Dan threatens with some elbows and moves to full mount.  Erick does a good job at defending from the bottom and taking too much damage.

Dan Dubuque defeats Erick Rodrigues via unanimous decision.






155 PRO Andrew Chirico (1-1 Renzo Gracie) vs. Jason Bakanowski (3-2 Integrated)

Andrew dives for a takedown but can't get it.  He gets the double leg and slams him down hard.  They work their way up and Andrew gets another takedown.  Jay works his way back up has Andrew pressed up against the cage.  Jay works some foot stomps as the round ends.

Chirico 10-9

Rd 2:  They collide and Jay is pressing Andrew up against the cage.  Not much action and ref breaks it up.  Andrew dives for a takedown and gets the slam.  Andrew is in half guard.  Jay gets some space and they are back standing.  Andrew gets another takedown as the round ends.

Chirico 10-9

Rd 3:  Jay connects with a kick to the body.  Andrew takes him down with a hip toss and Jay tries for a leg lock.  Andrew gets out and takes the top position.  They work their way up and Andrew gets another takedown.  Andrew gets in a few punches as the round ends.

170 PRO Kemran Lachinov (Team Link Ludlow 2-1) vs. Tom Regal (Spacity 0-0)

They come out guns blazing.  Kemran gets the better of the exchange.  Tom ties him up and gets in a knee to the body.  Tom connects with a combo.  Kemran rushes in and gets hit with a right.  He gets the takedown as if it doesn't even faze him.  Tom gets some space and they both try for heel hooks.  Tom is threating with a kimura from the bottom.  Kemran breaks free and makes him pay with some ground and pound.  Tom works his way up and they are swinging as the round ends.

Lachinov 10-9

Rd 2:  They both connect with a right.  The crowd is cheering.  Kemran is connecting with some heavy rights.  They slow it down for a minute and then break.  Tom connects with a couple of rights and Kemran is out cold.

They do the 50/50 raffle and Joe Leonard wins the prize.  Guess we know who is buying Wendy's later!!  Congrats bud.

175 PRO Nick Alley (Team Link NH 0-0) vs. Jerome Mickle (Striking 101 0-0)

Nick works the takedown and Jerome is staying busy from the bottom.  He works his way up and Nick takes him down again.  He has his back but is sliding off the side.  Jerome backs off and lets him up.  Jerome is swinging for the fences.  Nick connects with a kick to the body that stuns Jerome right down to the mat.  Jerome works his way up and the fight is standing again.  Jerome comes in with a combo.

Alley 10-9

Rd 2:  They both come out swinging.  Alley gets the takedown and moves to full mount.  Jerome bucks him off and works his way up and Alley slams him back to the mat.  Jerome bounces back up and Nick slams him back down.  Nick works an arm triangle for the tap!

Nick Alley defeats Jerome Mickle via tapout to arm triangle at 3:04 in Rd 2.  JC dedicates his win to an 11 year old teammate who was just diagnosed with leukemia.  Our prayers go out to you Gage!








170 PRO Ricardo Funch (Link Ludlow 9-5) vs. Matt Secor (Spacity 7-3)

Matt just misses with a head kick.  Ricardo connects and sends Matt back.  Matt goes for a takedown and goes for a heel hook.  Ricardo is fighting it and making him pay with punches to the body.  Matt keeps going for that leg and won't let go.  Matt is cranking on that heel as the round ends.

Secor 10-9

Rd 2:  Matt dives for the leg but can't get it.  Ricardo gets in a couple of hammerfists.  Ricardo is in half guard.  Matt is working the knee bar and gets the tap.

135 PRO Sarah Payant (1-2 Gladiator BJJ) vs. Leah Letson (Pura Vida BJJ 2-1)

Leah connects with a leg kick.  Leah connects with a left that drops Sarah.  Leah is in half guard and getting in some gnp.  Sarah turns and gives up her back.  Leah gets the stoppage after some ground and pound.

Leah Letson defeats Sarah Payant via ref stoppage to strikes at 4:22 in Rd 1.  I feel the fight was stopped a little early and I would have liked to see it go a little longer as Sarah was fine and was blocking many of the shots.







170 PRO Vinicious De Jesus (Link 2-1) vs. Montoyia Swillings (Champions In Christ 0-4)

Vini takes him down and is in half guard.  He moves to full mount and Montoyia gives up his back.  Vini works a rear naked choke for the tap.

Premier FC announced that they will return on October 22nd.  I had alot of fun at the sold out show at the Mass Mutual Center.  Premier FC had one of their best cards and the fights were all evenly matched.  I had fun joking with the Mass Commission guys at our table as well.  Shout out to Karyn Wesch and PFC for a great time and as always stay right here as we get you all closer to the cage!
