🚨BREAKING--🚨 BOUCHER & MALDONADO SET TO CLASH IN THE QUEEN CITY

[NEF PRESS RELEASE]

Bangor, Maine (September 1, 2022) – New England Fights (NEF) returns to Bangor, Maine on Friday, September 9, 2022, with its next mixed-martial-arts (MMA) event “NEF 49: Queen City Showdown.”  It will be NEF’s first event in Bangor in more than three years.  Earlier today, the fight promotion announced the addition of a professional catchweight bout to the card.  Nate Boucher (0-2) will take on Danny Maldonado (0-4) at a fight weight of 130 pounds.

Nate Boucher will look for the first win of his professional career on September 9 after going 6-3 as an amateur.  He made his pro debut just before the start of the Covid-19 pandemic at “NEF 42” in a losing effort to Chris Caterino (4-3).  Boucher returned to the cage at “NEF 47” last spring only to be submitted by David Juliano (2-2) in the second round.  He currently represents Central Maine Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (CMBJJ) based in Lewiston, Maine.

“I am always excited to get back in the cage, especially in Bangor,” said Boucher. “My back is up against the wall here and I have my work cut out for me. It’s all right there for me I just gotta do what I can to take it.”

Danny Maldonado, like Boucher, will be looking for the first win of his professional career.  Also like Boucher, Maldonado’s most recent loss was a second-round submission at the hands of David Juliano.  Prior to turning pro in 2019, Maldonado had a solid run in the amateur ranks where he went 4-4 and captured a regional flyweight championship.  He fights out of New York and will be making his first appearance in the NEF cage.

“I'm really excited to come to Maine and make my NEF debut, as I've heard nothing but great things about this promotion,” stated Maldonado. “I'm also very excited to face a tough competitor in Nate Boucher and to right the ship in my young pro career which has been filled with unfortunate circumstances and bad luck in my fights. I like to put on exciting fights with my well rounded skills and even though I'm heading to Nate's backyard, I'm sure I'll make new fans after the scrap.”

“NEF 49: Queen City Showdown” is set for Friday, September 9 and will be the organization’s long-awaited return to Bangor, Maine. For more information, go to NewEnglandFights.com.  Tickets are available now at TicketMaster.com.
