Reality Fighting 9/22/2012 Review

Arrived at Mohegan Sun with plenty of time to spare.  The Artist took some great photos for you all.  The cage was gorgeous and there were many fighters walking around getting ready.  Kipp and Joe brought us all another solid event.  We met up with Jeff Watts of USCombatsports.com and his fiance.  They joined us while we ate some awesome pizza at Frank Pepe's Pizzeria.  Reality doesn't usually have many tshirt vendors here but they don't need to.  They have all that Mohegan has to offer in food and gambling.  Dan Cormier, Nick Newell, Joe Lauzon, Mike Polvere, Jay Jodoin, Mark Moynihan and Matt Bessette were running around.  I had a good chat with Dan Cormier and Roger Denton from CTMMA before the show. I got to watch the fights with Jeff Nader who was filling in for Northeastmma.Net. The announcer was Dave Ginsberg and they just announced the next Reality Fighting January 5th!! Mark your calendars.

It was a great night of fights.  Reality announced their next show January 5th and with teased us with two matchups.  One being Ricardo Funch against Brett Oteri where Brett will defend his title.  What a great matchup that one is.  Both fighters are fighting to stay at the top and become a future contender to be in the UFC.  They then teased us and said their will be a women's title fight and I am trying to figure out who it is. I can think of two women's matches I would love to see.  One is Peggy Morgan vs. Katie Merrill and another one is Peggy Morgan vs. Marianna Kheyfetts.  That one might have to be at a catchweight of 130lbs but they are two fights I am dying to see.  I would like to thank Kipp, Joe Cuff, and Mohegan staff for the great hospitality.  The buffet in the back was unreal.  The chocolate covered fortune cookies were so good I ate my fortune with it as well!!  I would say there were about 2500 people in the crowd and they all loved it.  Some people left before the Haddad fight??  I am not sure why because that was a great fight that you all missed out on by leaving.  I really love how Reality interviews the winners after each fight.  I know I preach it all the time but it helps us learn what is going through the fighters mind at the time.  I will close it out with the best quote of the night from a fighter in the cage.  Kipp told Matt Bessette, "you are one of my favorite fighters to see in the Reality Cage" and Bessette replied "you are my favorite Reality promoter!!"  I laughed so hard at that.
