Warrior Nation V 11/9/2012 Teaser

Warrior Nation is set for their fifth show that will take place this Friday on November 9th, 2012 at the Hu Ke Lau in Chicopee Mass.  For those of you who have never been there, it is a unique experience.  You get to eat Polynesian food which is served to you at your table while you watch the melee in the cage.  It is like every seat is the same as flying first class!!  There will be 9 fights for the evening and since the card was released only one has been scratched.  The Theo Desjardin vs. Anthony 'Skwirl' Carmenatty one had to get scratched due to injury.  It was unfortunate and it is like that rematch is doomed to never happen!  One of these days Jesse!  Jesse Camp and Tom Gomes go above and beyond to put on an awesome show and it shows.  Tickets are still on sale and will be available at the door, I believe.  I would not recommend waiting to the last minute because this show may just very well sell out.  Well let me break down the fights for you...

Todd Matulis  vs. Rob Solveson

At 155lbs Todd Matulis is ready to fight Rob Solveson.  Todd is from DCNU and has a record of 1-1.  He lost his first fight from KO against Jeff Hammond.  He then bounced back and won his second fight against Nick Berube via submission at the end of round 1 at Premier FC 4.  Now Todd hasn't fought since 2011 but I doubt ring rust will be a factor coming from such a great school as DCNU.  Rob is from Team Bombsquad and has a record of 0-1.  He lost his only fight up in Maine at Fight Night II against Andrew Tripp from a rear naked choke in Rd 1.  The Bombsquad team do not mind to travel and we appreciate it because we get to see some great matchups.  I expect this fight to be a great ground battle.

Nicholas Sam vs. Billy Leischner

Next up is at 155lbs Nicholas Sam against Billy Leischner.  Nicholas is from CTMMA and will be making his amateur debut.  Being from a great school as CTMMA I would expect him to have some great jiu jitsu.  Billy is from Dexter's MMA and has a record of 1-3.  Billy lost his last fight at Warrior Nation from a split decision to Nick Berube.  He lost his other two fights from a submission.  His one win he won via submission in Rd 3 against Sean Nichols.  I would expect this fight to a ground battle and it is going to come down to who can stick to their gameplan and get the better positions.

Britt Soden vs. Michael Tabor

Next we have Britt Soden against Michael Tabor at a catchweight of 130lbs.  Britt is from DCNU and will be making his amateur debut.  DCNU has some great talent and I know he will be ready for a battle.  Tabor is from Guardian MMA and has a record of 1-2.  I have seen two of Tabor's fight and he is well rounded.  He lost a fight this year at Premier FC to Michael Velazquez which was to a decision.  He then fought Joe Leonard, my great friend and co-owner of this site at the last Warrior Nation and won with a quick armbar in Rd 1.  This is a great matchup folks.

Max Evans vs. Leo Powers

Max Evans is set to take on Leo Powers at 185lbs.  Max trains with StrikeZone MMA and will be making his amateur debut.  Leo trains with Dexter's MMA and comes into this battle with a record of 1-1.  Leo has a tko stoppage in rd 1 against Anthony Soto for his sole victory.  He then lost at a Premier FC to Mike Ingalls from an armbar.  I would love to see this be a nice standup battle but I am afraid it will most likely be a ground battle.  We will find out this Friday!

Mclynn Cadiente  vs. Anthony Jerome

For the fifth fight of the evening, they have Mclynn Cadiente fighting Anthony Jerome at 145lbs.  Mclynn is from ECU BJJ which stands for East Coast United BJJ and is located in New York.  He will be making his amateur debut.  His opponent Anthony is from Team Bombsquad which of course is from New York as well.  He has a record of 0-1 in which he lost via armbar in round 1 against Scott McGregor.  Both of these guys aren't coming all the way from New York to get a loss so bet your bottom dollar they will be ready.  I expect this to be a wrestling battle.

Nhel Theam vs. Allen Edgecomb

Then we have Nhel Theam against Allen Edgecomb at 135lbs.  These guys fought at the last Warrior Nation and about a minute or two in the first round Nhel got caught with an accidental eye poke.  The doctor checked him out and Nhel just couldn't see and the doctor had to call it.  Now both fighters have agreed to this rematch and Allen promises the fans he will keep his fingers inside his fist...right Allen?? Nhel is from DCNU and has record of 0-0-1.  Allen is from Shaolin Kempo and has a record of 0-1-1.  He lost via armbar to Matt Allen in the first round back in April at Warrior Nation III.  Both fighters are well rounded and real nice guys.  I don't know about you guys but I have been waiting since April to see the outcome of this battle!!

Mike Pezello  vs. Justin Marcoccio

At a catch weight of 140lbs Mike Pzello will take on Justin Marcoccio.  Mike trains with Strike Zone MMA which is located in London CT.  He will be making his amateur debut.  Justin is from Guardian MMA and has a record of 0-1.  Justin fought at Premier FC 6 and suffered his only loss when he was unable to answer the bell at the start of Rd 3 against Brian Barry.  Justin will be looking to bounce back but he will have his work cut out for him.

Kurt Chase-Patrick  vs. Hassan Mamhood

For the co-main event they will have Kurt Chase-Patrick against Hassan Mamhood at 125lbs.  Kurt is from DCNU and will be making his pro debut.  He had a great amateur career with a verbal submission victory over Rico Discuillo and submission victory over Anthony Carmenatty.  Hassan is from Bombsquad MMA and has a pro record of 1-0.  He has a submission victory over Enesto Ornelas from NEF III in round 1 for his sole pro victory.  This is an awesome and very close matchup.  Kurt will have to wait for his openings and control it on the ground and work a submission.  Hassan needs to be patient and control the fight to get the victory.  This could go either way folks.

185lbs Erik Sommer (CT MMA 2-2) vs. Harley "Darkheart" Beekman (Bombsquad MMA 4-2)

For the second half of the co main event they have Erik Sommer against Harley Beekman at 185lbs.  Erik trains out of CTMMA and has a record of 2-2.  He has two submission victories in his pro career and one was against Ricardo Georges.  For his two losses he lost from are ref stoppages.  Harley trains with Bombsquad and has a record of 4-2.  He started out his pro career with four straight victories with one being a victory over Todd Chattelle.  He then lost his last two fights and one was a decision to Brennan Ward and the second was a submission to Keith Jeffrey.  He fights very tough fights and this one is no different.  I expect this one to be a ground battle and will most likely end up with one of them getting a submission victory.  I don't see it going to a decision.

There you have it folks.  Warrior Nation is bringing another solid show to Western Mass.  They have 9 fights with two of them being pro.  They are all great matchups and could go either way in all of them.  Thanks to Jesse Camp and the rest of Warrior Nation crew for their support in local mma and for getting us the fight cards.  The whole WesternMassMMA.com crew will be there.  The Boss, Jeremy Reipold will be capturing the action and I will be doing the live play by play/review.  The Artist will be with his FCAT crew filming the action and it should be a blast.  I can't possibly get through a Warrior Nation teaser without giving a shoutout to the lovely Warrior Nation Girls!!  If you haven't seen them on Facebook or live in person then it is your loss.
