Image may contain: 4 people, text

CES returns this Saturday with their 58th show.  This one will be taking place at the CT Convention Center in Hartford Mass.  The show will feature 9 pro fights that will be sure to please the fight fans.  I am excited for this one because there will be 2 heavyweight battles on the card and also I have not covered a CES in a while.  I am anxious to see all my old CES friends in attendance.  If you can't make the show then this will be aired on UFC Fight Pass except for the first 3 fights.  Please follow along as I break down the fight card for you all.

135 PRO Will Smith (FAA 2-1) vs. Aaron Reese (Team Reese 0-0)

The first fight of the night will be between Will Smith and Aaron Reese.  Smith trains with FAA and comes into this fight with a 2-1 record.  He won 1 fight by injury and his 2nd win by way of decision.  His one loss came by decision at a former CES event.  His opponent is Aaron Reese and he trains with Team Reese.  He will be making his pro debut.  As an amateur he was 2-0 with both wins by decision.  I think this fight will be a ground battle and will go to a decision.

HVY PRO Dan Randall (FAA 0-1) vs. Jesse Baughman (Team Link 0-2)

Next fight is a heavyweight battle between Dan Randall and Jesse Baughman.  Dan trains with FAA and comes into this fight with an 0-1 record with his 1 loss by ko in Round 1.  Don't let his record fool you as he went 4-0 as an amateur and has knockout power.  His opponent is Jesse Baughman and he trains with Team Link.  He comes into this fight with an 0-2 record with with 1 loss by ko/tko and 1 loss by submission.  I think this fight is going to be a war as both of these guys hit hard.  Don't blink on this one!

125 PRO Justin Valentin (Underdog MMA 2-1) vs. Adrian Haley (Brooklyn MMA 0-0)

At 125 lbs Justin Valentin will be taking on Adrian Haley.  Justin trains with Underdog MMA and comes into this fight with a 2-1 record.  In the win column, he has 1 win by submission and 1 win by split decision.  His one loss came by decision at CES 55.  His opponent is Adrian Haley and he will be making his pro debut.  If I found the right person he went 7-3 as an amateur with the majority of the wins by decision.  I think this fight is going to be a ground battle and I, of course will be rooting for Valentin!

155 PRO Nick Giulietti  (1-0 Ultimate MMA) vs.  Cody Schieve (0-1)

Then at 155 lbs Nick Giulietti will be squaring off against Cody Schieve.  Nick trains with Ultimate MMA and comes into this fight with a 1-0 record.  His sole pro win comes by ko/tko to strikes in just 2 minutes of the first round.  He would love another first round finish this Saturday.  His opponent is Cody Schieve and he is an independent fighter.  He comes into this fight with an 0-1 record with his 1 loss by rear naked choke.  As an amateur it looks like he went 6-9 with the majority of his wins by submission.  I think this is going to be a stand up war and is going to be a lot of fun to watch.

135 PRO Harris Bonfiglio (Ultimate MMA 2-0) vs.  Jornel Lugo (ATT 1-0)

Next up is at 135 lbs Harris Bonfiglio is facing off against Jornel Lugo.  Harris trains with Ultimate MMA and comes into this fight with a 2-0 record.  For his wins, both of them came by way of submission.  His opponent is Jornel Lugo and he trains with ATT.  He comes into this fight with a 1-0 record with his 1 win by submission in Round 1.  This fight is going to be a ground battle and both of these guys are comfortable on the ground so it should be a good match up.

145 PRO Robbie Leroux  ( Regiment Training 5-6) vs.  Pete Rogers Jr. (Pete Rogers Karate 4-4)

At 145 lbs Robbie Leroux is ready to battle Pete Rogers Jr.  Robbie trains with Relentless Training and comes into this fight with a 5-6 record.  In the win column, he has 2 by ko/tko, 1 by submission and 2 by decision.  For his losses, he lost 2 by ko/tko, 2 by submission and 2 by decision.  His opponent is Pete Rogers Jr and he trains with Pete Rogers Karate.  He comes into this fight with a 4-4 record with 2 wins by ko/tko and 2 by submission.  For his losses, he lost all 4 by submission.  As you can see their records are very close and I see this one being a stand up battle.

170 PRO Jesse Kosakowski (PSDTC 4-0) vs.  Reggie Merriweather (13-14 Genocide MMA)

Next up is at 170 lbs Jesse Kosakowski will be taking on Reggie Merriweather.  Jesse trains with Practical Self Defense Training Center and comes into this fight with a 4-0 record.  For his wins, he has all 4 wins by submission.  He is looking to keep his perfect record intact.  His opponent is Reggie Merriweather and he trains with Genocide MMA.  He comes into this fight with a 13-14 record with 6 wins by ko/tko and 7 wins by decision.  For his losses, he lost 3 by ko/tko, 4 by submission, 6 by decision and 1 DQ.  In this fight Reggie has the fight experience in the cage but Jesse is a beast and I know will have no problem adjusting.  This fight has potential to be fight of the night.

HVY PRO Dirlei Broenstrup (Minu Fight Team 16-7) vs.  Parker Porter (Underdog MMA 9-5)

In the co main event Dirlei Broenstrup will be facing off against Parker Porter in a heavy weight showdown.  Dirlei trains with Minu Fight Team and comes into this fight with a 16-7 record.  In the win column, he has 5 by ko/tko, 7 by submission and 4 by decision.  For his losses, he lost 2 by ko/tko, 3 by submission and 2 by decision.  His opponent is Parker Porter and he trains with Underdog MMA.  He comes into this fight with a 9-5 record with 3 by ko/tko, 4 by submission and 2 by decision.  For his losses, he lost 2 by ko/tko, 2 by submission and 1 by DQ.  Both fighters have very similar wins and are very well rounded.  Add in that they both have knockout power and this is going to be a dynamite fight.

170 PRO Vinicius de Jesus (8-2 Team Link)  vs.  Chris Lozano  (10-4 Evolve MMA)

In the main event Vinicius de Jesus will be taking on Chris Lozano at 170 lbs.  Vini trains with Team Link and comes into this fight with an 8-2 record.  In the win column, he has 3 by ko/tko, 2 by submission and 3 by decision.  For his losses, he lost both of them by decision.  His opponent is Chris Lozano and he trains with Evolve MMA.  He comes into this fight with a 10-4 record with 8 by ko/tko, 1 by submission and 1 by decision.  For his losses, he lost 1 by ko/tko, 1 by submission and 2 by decision.  Chris has the knockout power and is tough to finish.  Vini is very well rounded and is also tough to finish.  I see this one being a back and forth battle and I feel it is going to come down to a decision.
