BREAKING--GLORY WATSON TO COMPETE IN MAINE FOR THE FIRST TIME AS A PROFESSIONAL

[NEF PRESS RELEASE]

Portland, Maine (December 9, 2021) – New England Fights (NEF) returns with its next mixed-martial-arts (MMA) event, “NEF 46: Decade of Dominance,” on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at Aura in Portland, Maine. The event will commemorate NEF’s ten-year anniversary. The leading regional promotion launched on February 11, 2012. Earlier today, NEF announced the addition of a professional flyweight bout to the fight card. Former NEF Amateur Flyweight Champion Glory Watson (1-1) is scheduled to face Michigan’s Alibeth Milliron (2-0) at a fight weight of 115-pounds.

Glory “The Fury” Watson last appeared in the NEF cage in August 2021 at “NEF 44: Back In Black” in Milford, New Hampshire. That night, Watson competed in a professional kickboxing bout against Dana White’s Contender Series veteran and former NEF Amateur Strawweight Champion Hilarie Rose (5-3). Watson lost a decision to Rose. In March of this year, Watson lost her professional MMA debut in Florida. Glory got back on the winning track in October when she won via first round submission against Rebecca Bryggman (0-2) in New York. Watson represents Young’s MMA.

“I can’t wait to fight back in my home state,” Watson stated. “The best part about being back home will be fighting in front of my friends, family and hometown fans. The beginning of my professional career did not start the way I would have liked. That being said, I am looking at every fight as a new challenge and an opportunity to be the best. This fight is another steppingstone towards the top. I expect Milliron to come out and be ready for a fight. I am not an easy fight and I know only a game opponent would step up. So, I’m ready for something big. 2022 is my year and I am ready to show the world.”

Ali “Overtime” Milliron is perfect so far in her professional MMA career. After finishing her amateur run with an impressive 7-3 record, the Michigan-based fighter turned professional in 2018. The Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) Blue Belt has stopped both of her opponents since moving into the pro ranks. She represents Ludus Mixed Martial Arts.

“I’m thrilled to be making that next walk to the cage for NEF in Portland, Maine against Glory Watson,” Milliron stated. “I have a feeling this one is going to be a banger and I can’t wait till that cage door closes and we can put on a show.”

“NEF 46: Decade of Dominance” takes place on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at Aura in Portland, Maine.  The event will commemorate NEF’s ten-year anniversary. Doors open at 6 pm with first fight at 7 pm.  Tickets are on sale now at www.Ticketmaster.com.
