NEF X 9/21/2013 Review

There have been a few changes since my teaser and the now.  A few fighters were not able to make it to the weigh ins so the big title fight between John Ortolani and Jon Lemke is off the table.  NEF tried for a last minute replacement but it just wasn't happening.  Also Jesse Erickson/Tunde fight also had to be scrapped due to Tunde not able to make it to weigh ins.  Now, there is 25 fights and is going to be another memorable night right here in Lewiston Maine.

--We are now here and the fights are about to start.  John Vena will be our host for the evening.  The national anthem has been sung and we are ready to begin.  The crowd was about 2000 people for the event.  For vendors I noticed Kill Their Will and SuckerPunch Athletics were in attendance.  For local celebrities, there were Buck Pineau, Peggy Morgan, Chuck O'Neil, Ray Wood and Joe Lauzon!

KO of the Night:  Dan Connaughton over Ramon Saintvil
Blunder of the Night:  Warchild going the wrong way on a one way street

It was an awesome night of fights at New England Fights.  2000+ dedicated fans came out even though it was a big UFC night.  The show went off without any hitches.  Every fighter left it all out there and there were only 4 decisions out of 25 fights.  Thanks to Matt Peterson and Nick DiSalvo for allowing us to cover the show and for putting on another event for us all.  The main event did not turn out the way people were expecting at all!  I thought Jimmy would win it early but Luc really stuck it to Jimmy and the fight resulted in a draw.  NEF had confetti ready to go off for the winner and everything!  They shot out the confetti anyways of course which was a nice effect.  Shout out to all the NEF crew and all our friends we have met up in Maine.  NEF will be returning on November 9th in Lewiston Maine.  All of our photos will be posted onto our facebook fanpage so please support us by "liking" us and sharing our page by clicking the FB icon below.
