1. When and Why did you get into MMA??

I got into MMA when I met Kru Saroeum. I was just a kid then, maybe 14 years old, but him and Kru Louis raised me into a man, in mma and in life.

2. Do you have a background in martial arts, boxing , wrestling etc?
I had no background in anything but I learned pretty fast!

3. What's you nickname, how did you get it?
The Water Buffalo" It is a warrior name given the day before the first weigh in for TPS fighters. You are challenged to live up to that name in your fight career and life. A Water Buffalo is the real king of the jungle. Only packs can kill it, it goes after lions without fear and I hope to live up to that every fight! Someday I hope to live up to the name and graduate to "The Lion Killer"!!

4. What are your ultimate goals in the sport?
My ultimate goal in this sport is the UFC title, I will not stop working every day as hard as I can until I get there. When I get there I will be proud to be the first Kun Khmer fighter to do so!

5. What do you think about your next opponent?
I hope my next opponent is in good shape and at his best. I love a good challenge. I am prepared physically and mentally. I really, truly hope he is.

6. How do you see the fight going/being finished?
I see me winning because NO ONE is going to stop me from attaining my goals, I work too hard to lose to anyone. It is never personal in the cage, it is business, and I plan on taking care of business!

7. What weight do you walk at/how much do you cut to fight?

I walk around at about 180-185 but I am always in shape and eat well so I could walk at 190-195 without the discipline I have...I feel like I am strong at 170.

8. What's your favorite part about fighting?
My favorite part of fighting is representing the Khmer warriors that have fought before me. I will train to do them proud.

9. What's the worst part about fighting?
My least favorite part of fighting when I can't get fights. I went through that a lot as an amateur. I just want to fight after training so hard and a lot of people pulled out for one reason or another. I am glad to be pro now so they can get paid to fight me!

10. Anyone locally or in the big's that you really would love to fight, and why?
I want to fight anyone who has a belt in any organization until I get to the UFC. I will never call a fighter out. My Job is to fight, we have a HUGE team at TPS and everyone has a role. My manager and Khru's job is to tell me who I am fighting, my job is to beat them., I WANT to fight great fighters, everyone on my team knows that and I hope everyone in local mma knows that by now.

11. What do you feel is your best weapon in your fights?
My best weapon is probably my kicks but I have ended fights in every way possible. I am happy to get to use my elbows and knees now at the pro level. I don't feel weak anywhere, I will fight any type of fighter anywhere they want. That is how I have been trained.

12. What is your favorite foods that you miss while cutting weight??

My Khru makes me eat healthy year round so I am always missing food haha...Katev "Cambodian noodle soup" is what I miss the most!

13. What is your most memorable moment to date in MMA??
I don't really have a favorite moment. Meeting Khru Saroeum is my favorite to date and certainly my most important, but as far as inside the cage I dont feel satisfied with anything I accomplished yet. I have one goal in that cage and that is to be a world champion for my fans and for Pradal Serey Worldwide. Winning amateur titles against guys I knew I should beat and then did does not really excite me.

14. How else do you spend your time when you are not training??
When I have a day off from training, I go to Team Pradal Serey and I TRAIN. I need to find more of a balnce but right now what I do is train and work. I want to be the best and NOTHING is going to stop me!

15. What do you do for a living besides fighting??
I work at walgreens and I FIGHT!

I would like to thank My team, TPS. They are truly my family. I have grown up with them and they have pushed me so hard to not just become a better fighter, but a better person. We push each other to be the best and right now we are going in a very good direction. I like to lead the way through my actions and my intense training. When I win or Matt or Khru Louis wins, we all win, we win and lose together. I just want to make my team and myself proud. Thanks to westernmassmma.com too for doing a story on me. I really appreciate it and hope to see you guys at the fights!

Thanks for taking the time Ricardo.  For those of you who do not know Ricardo, he is a total warrior in the cage and the nicest guy out of the cage.  He is one of the humblest fighters I know.  This guy is definitely going places!!  His leg kicks being strong are an understatement.  He is making his pro debut at Sept 16th against Ralph Johnson who is 5-4 pro so very seasoned and with the experience this will be a very entertaining fight.  Ralph Johnson in his last fight received a big KO win via  head kick against Shawn Baker.  I anticipate seeing some big elbows from Ricardo in his pro debut so you all won't want to miss this!! Yes Ricardo, we will see you there!!
