New England Fights Fight Night XI 11/9/2013 Review

We are here live at New England Fights.  Warchild burned a little oil on the way and had to make a few pit stops but we made it here.  There are a total of 15 fights.  The female fight dropped out due to the doctors not clearing her to fight.  John Vena is the host for the evening.  John English and Steve Rita are the refs.  After watching Brennan Ward get the Win last night I am pumped for a night of mma action.  There are 5 professional fights but many of the fighters didn't make weight so there are lots of catch weight fights.  Also one of the title fights is no longer a title fight because of this but at least all the fights are still happening.  Brett Raio is singing our national anthem.  The people are starting to fill in and the fights are about to begin.  It appears to be a crowd of about 2000 fans. Please follow along with the live play by play.

Paul Gorman defeats Tateki Matsuda via split decision!  What a war!!

Awards:
Fight of the Night: Paul Gorman vs. Tateki Matsuda!!  An all out war!!
Submission of the Night: Vovka Clay's Von Flue choke over Dom Cofone
KO of the Night: Ryan Hodge brutal knockout over Josh Watson!

It was a solid night of fights.  They took about four hours to complete with a brief 10 minute intermission.  The crowd was into the fights and you can tell they were all in awe during the last fight between Paul Gorman and Tateki Matsuda.  This was an all out five round war that came down to a split decision.  I was very impressed with Gorman who was able to go punch for punch with Tateki!  I was also very impressed with Ryan Hodge with his nasty knockout over Josh Watson.  This guy lives in Florida and trains all over Florida and in New England.  I wasn't impressed with his first fight at NEF.  Then he fought for Combat Zone and won with a submission over Cody Anderson.  He then fought this fight at Heavyweight and won with a knockout.  I am very excited to see what Ryan will do next.  Ok so we didn't have a photographer for this event because Warchild had to help out with the film crew.  We plan on plugging in some photos from LMP Photos so make sure you add LMP on facebook.  NEF announced they will be back on February 8th 2014 with their next mma event.
