CES returns this Friday night with their 66th show to date on the mma side. They have put together a stellar card featuring 8 professional fights. The show will be taking place on UFC Fight Pass and also at the Twin River Casino in Lincoln, Rhode Island. They have put together 2 title fights with some of the biggest names in New England. Let me break down the fight card for you all. This should be the exact fight order.
155 PRO Robert Varriccho (1-0 Tiger Schulmann's MMA ) vs. Turner Williams (0-3)
In the first fight of the night Robert Varricho will be taking on Turner Williams. Rob trains with Tiger Schulmann's MMA and comes into this fight with an 0-1 record. He won his first pro fight by ko/tko in Round 1. His opponent is Turner Williams and he trains out of West Virginia. He steps into this fight with an 0-3 record with all 3 losses by submission. He did have a couple of boxing matches as well under his belt. This should be a good first fight to kick off the night and I give the edge to Varriccho.
145 PRO Travis Demko (1-0 Lauzon) vs. Dajuan Robinson (0-5)
Then in the 145 division Travis Demko will be challenging Dajuan Robinson. Demko trains with Lauzon MMA and comes into this fight with a 1-0 record. He won his first pro battle by ko/tko at a previous Cage Titans event. His opponent is Dajuan Robinson and he is fighting out of Michigan. He comes into this fight with an 0-5 record with 3 losses by ko/tko and 2 by decisions. I see this one being a stand up battle for sure and the slight edge to Demko.
155 PRO Dion Rubio (1-0 Tri-force) VS Bobby Casale (0-0 Sanford MMA)
Next up is at 155 lbs Dion Rubio will be fighting Bobby Casale. Dion trains with Tri-force and comes into this fight with a 1-0 record. He won his 1st pro fight by submission against Leo Ladeira. Since then he has been doing some grappling matches so we know he is more than ready for this battle. His opponent is Bobby Casale and he trains with Sanford MMA. As an amateur he went 3-3 with 2 ko/tko and 1 decision victory. Now he is ready to make his pro debut. This is a great match up and I think it is going to be a ground battle.
145 PRO Tyrime DaSilva (1-0 Tri-Force) vs Eduardo Rodrigues (1-1 X-Team)
At 145 lbs Tyrime DaSilva will be taking on Eduardo Rodrigues. Tyrime trains with Tri-Force and he steps into this fight with a 1-0 record. He won his first fight by ko/tko to strikes at the past CES 65. His opponent is Eduardo Rodrigues and he trains with X-Team. He steps into this fight with a 1-1 record with 1 win by submission and 1 loss by ko/tko to strikes. This should be another close battle and I think it will be a ground battle.
145 PRO Connor Matthews (4-0 Lauzon) vs. Keith Speed (5-5 ATT Florida)
At 145 lbs Connor Matthews will be squaring off against Keith Speed. Connor trains with Lauzon MMA and comes into this fight with a 4-0 record with 1 win by ko/tko and 3 by way of submission. He is looking to keep his perfect record intact. His opponent is Keith Speed and he trains with ATT Palm Gardens Florida. He steps into this fight with a 5-5 record with 2 ko/tko, 2 submissions and 1 decision victory. For his losses, he lost 2 by submissions and 3 by decision. I think this fight should be another ground battle and I gotta give the edge to Matthews in this one.
135 PRO Joey Gomez (6-2 Karasu Tengu Academy) vs. Vlad Kazbekov (6-4 Modern Vision MMA)
At 135 lbs Joey Gomez returns to mma against Vlad Kazbekov. Joey trains with Karasu Tengu Academy and steps into this fight with a 6-2 record. In the win column, he has all 6 wins by ko/tko to strikes! For his losses, he lost 1 by ko/tko and 1 by decision. Now Joey hasn't found since 2016 since his UFC losses but he has been working on his new school and I know he is fight ready. His opponent is Vlad Kazbekov and he trains with Modern Vision MMA in Canada. He steps into this fight with a 6-4 record with 1 ko/tko, 1 submission and 4 by decision. For his losses, he lost 2 by ko/tko, 1 by submission and 1 by decision. This is going to be an all out war that you don't want to miss! Both of these fighters are tough as nails and I expect them to bring it.
170 PRO TITLE Gary Balletto (7-2 Tri-Force) vs. Billy Goff (5-2 Dexter)
In the co-main event for the 170 lb title Gary Balletto Jr. will be fighting Billy Goff. Gary trains with Tri-Force MMA and comes into this fight with a 7-2 record. In the win column, he has 2 by ko/tko and 5 by submission. For his losses, he lost 1 by ko/tko and 1 by decision. His opponent is Billy Goff and he trains with Team Dexter. He comes into this fight with a 5-2 record with 3 ko/tko and 2 decision victories. For his losses, he lost 1 by ko/tko and 1 by decision. This fight is going to be insane back and forth stand up battle. I see this one going the distance and could go either way.
135 PRO TITLE Andre Soukhamthath (14-9 ATT) vs. Diego Silva (13-6)
In the main event Andre Soukhamthath is back to the CES cage against Diego Silva for the 135 lb title. He trains with ATT and comes into this fight with a 14-9 record. In the win column, he has 8 wins by ko/tko, 3 by submission and 3 by decision. For his losses, he lost 9 by decisions so he has never been finished in the cage as a pro. His opponent is Diego Silva and he trains with Fusion Xcel. He comes into this fight with a 13-6 record with 2 ko/tko, 5 wins by submission and 5 by decision. For his losses, he lost 2 by ko/tko, 1 by submission and 3 by way of decision. This is another awesome close battle for CES and it really could go the distance as well. I just know that CES fans will be so excited to see Andre back in their cage so I know he will have the crowd on his side for sure. How do you all see this playing out?
