Cage Titans has been working double duty the last few months on two great shows in less than a month. Their first show in the double feature was on October 20th and was a huge success. The show went smooth and it was a great night of fights. Yes, I know I bickered about a few of the decisions but that is the beauty of MMA. Everyone has their own view of how a fight goes and make no mistake, all the fighters fought their asses off! Titans also raised money for great causes and everyone had a great time. Mike Polvere, Shelly Riley, Brandie Light and the rest of the Titans staff are ready for their next show. They will return on November 10th and will be held at the Local 103 Union Hall in Boston MA. Tickets are available from the fighters and also at the link here. Today they released their fight card and here it is. Mike Polvere told me pretty much every pro fight has been changed so luckily some new guys stepped up! I hope everyone is staying dry and safe from the storm.

[NEF Press Release]
Lewiston, Maine (October 26, 2012) –New England Fights! (NEF) is pleased to announce the addition of a professional mixed martial arts bout to its card scheduled for November 17, 2012. That bout will feature Dez Green (5-0) of Team Bombsquad taking on Brandon Fleming (2-1) of South Shore Sportfighting at a catchweight of 150 pounds. The fight will take place at NEF's Fight Night V event at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee in Lewiston, Maine.
"Dez Green was initially supposed to meet Jamie Harrison (4-1) on this card to crown the first-ever Maine State Lightweight Champion," stated NEF co-owner and promoter Nick DiSalvo. "Unfortunately, Jamie was injured in training, leaving Dez without an opponent. That's when Brandon Fleming's coach stepped in, requesting the fight with Dez. This is a great fight added to an already-solid fight card."

Lewiston, Maine (October 25, 2012) – When New England Fights! (NEF) returns to the Androscoggin Bank Colisee in Lewiston, Maine on November 17, 2012, it will present its fifth and final card of what has proven to be a banner year for the young fight promotion. Aptly titled "FIGHT NIGHT V," the event is currently scheduled to feature five pro fights and sixteen amateur fights.
"NEF has garnered a reputation for providing its fans with an unmatched quality of entertainment," stated NEF co-owner and promoter Nick DiSalvo. "When our fans buy a ticket and come to the Colisee they expect to be treated to several hours of knock-outs, submissions, and great fights. That is what we strive to put together for them, and we do it at very reasonable ticket prices."
NEF brass credits those affordable ticket prices coupled with quality fight cards as the catalysts behind four wildly successful events this year. The promotion is averaging around 3,000 fans per show, outperforming many local competitors by four to five times in terms of attendance. Yet achieving such prosperity has not come without its challenges.

Warrior Nation has been working hard on the fight card for their
upcoming show on Friday, November 9th, 2012. They return to the Hu Ke
Lau Showroom in Chicopee Mass and Jesse Camp has worked double duty on
this one as promoter and matchmaker. You can get a night full of solid
fights, great Polynesian food, full drink menu and watch the gorgeous
Warrior Nation Girls all on the same night and in fact, all at once if
you want! Jesse Camp told me "We've put a lot of hard work into Warrior Nation over the last 2 years
and have seen the growth. I put everything I've got in to this last
show for 2012 and you won't want to miss it!" Tickets are available here and of course, tickets are available from the fighters which I recommend. I am not going to break down the fight card in this article but I will tell you the 3 Pro fights are great matchups and they also have a rematch of the Allen Edgecomb vs. Nhel Theam. For those who weren't at the last show, the last fight resulted in a No Contest due to an accidental eye poke. Without further adieu here is the fight card...

We are live at Cage Titans. I went to SKSFightGear right away and bought my raffle tickets and got my free shirts. Great deal and it helps a great cause. I made my way down to the cage and jumped through some hoops and got some power and wireless access so it should be a go for the live play by play. As for fight changes the George Nassar/Chris Suarez fight is off the card and another fighter dropped out and Shayne Stephenson stepped up to take the fight. That leaves them with 13 fights which is a perfect number if you ask me. Mike Polvere and Brandie are running around like crazy, that means is almost show time!! The Artist is ready to take photos for you all and we hope you follow along to our play by play. In the next few days we will be plugging in the photos so keep checking and as always we will be uploading them all to our fanpage on facebook. Their announcer for the evening is Harry Jones. Mike Guglielmo is in the cage talking about the awesome movement for DKMS. Harry Jones is the jack of all trades. He just announcing and he sings the national anthem! For local celebs, I see Old School, Mrs. Old School,Billy Giovanella, Dany and Joe Lauzon, Mark Dellagrotte, Tyson Chartier, Big John, Loco Lobo, Tyler King, Greg Rebello, Chris Rowley, Rico Disciullo Crazy Eddie Lee, ExtremeMMA, Mike Strazzere and many more. I would estimate about 600-700 people in attendance. Mike is ready for action he has pink dress shirt on. The ring girls are Katryna and Jill. Time to start the fights...

We are just within days away from the next Cage Titans event. They are returning to Plymouth Memorial Hall in Plymouth, MA respectively on October 20th, 2012. Mike Polvere, Brandie Light and the entire crew have been working hard behind the scenes on putting this show together. The card is complete and has 14 fights total which include 11 amateur fights which two of them are title fights and 3 professional fights. Tickets are still available on the ace ticket website here but it is not too late to buy from your favorite local fighter and help support them in their mma career. Words cannot describe how nice of a venue Plymouth Memorial Hall is. It is a stadium type seating and has not ONE bad seat in the house. The atmosphere is intense when the crowd roars, it echoes throughout the hall and really gets the fighters pumped for wars in the cage. I strongly urge you to come check it out for yourself, you can thank me later! Cage Titans and SKSFightGear has teamed up for a great cause. As we all know it is Breast Cancer Month and for it, they will be having a raffle and for every $10 of raffle tickets you buy you will receive a limited edition tee shirt with all funds raised going to the South Shore Hospital Charitable Foundation - Cancer Care. The tshirt picture is found below. Great idea and for a great cause! Let's get on with the breakdown of the fights.

Warchild and I arrived at the Sports Zone in Derry NH around 6:30pm. The drive wasn't too bad, we hit a little bit of traffic...damn leaf peepers!! I see a PowerAde Booth, SuckerPunch Athletics, Kill Their Will and Jack Daniel's booth. Warchild said I can't do any shots tonight, he doesn't want to babysit me. We met the people in charge, Jimmy Quinlan, Chris Corso and Eric Bither so we can finally put a face with the name. They lost a few fights off the card so we are down to 11 but it should be a great night of fights nonetheless. The Chris Violette vs Lewis Caballer was cancelled due to medical issues last minute but we aren't going to let that spoil a great night of fights. I see John English and Kevin the Ref are here to make sure everybody is behaving. The ring girls are looking hot, I am sure Warchild will get some photos for you all during the night. At the media table we got, Old School, Nader, Warchild, ExtremeMMA and I. Peggy Morgan, John Ortolani and John Fain are running the DNA MMA crew tonight!! I am not too good at estimating but it seems to me like there are at least 1000 people here. Running a little late, this should be starting soon...

Coliseum To The Cage is less than a week away before their first event. They seem to be doing everything right. They are advertising and they have an excellent card of 13 fights and four of them are pro. The card also includes the huge amateur showdown between Ray Wood and Soap Am!! They have a great website too, that they update very often which is a great way for fans to keep up with all their fight card changes. They have listed pictures of their two ringside girls on the website as well so make sure you check it out. The show is set to take place in Derry New Hampshire at the SportsZone and the doors open at 6:30pm. Tickets are on sale and they start at just $20 bux and are available here. Another great thing about CTTC that I want to have you all aware is they teamed up with DKMS and Mike Guglielmo in the Fight Blood Cancer-Do It For Giovanni Campaign which is a fight against blood cancer. Mike's son had the rare immune deficiency disorder called NEMO and there is a great article about it all here. Stay strong Mike, we are proud of what you do!! So what does this all mean?? It means that for every ticket purchased for "Unleashed" using the coupon code DKMS during checkout, CTTC will donate 10% of the purchase price to DKMS. They have also commited to add 300 new people to the DKMS registry during Unleashed. If you would like to find out more info visit GetSwabbed.org. Last shoutout I am going to do before I break down the fights is, I want to thank CTTC for their support of WesternMassMMA.com and for always keeping us up to date with the show. John Raio (middle) and some of his team mates on his last amateur victory |
Lewiston, Maine (October 8, 2012) – In what could prove to be one of the most interesting bouts in Maine fight history, New England Fights! (NEF) announced today that Ray "All Business" Wood (4-1 as an amateur) and John "First Class" Raio (4-0 as an amateur) will fight each other at the promotion's Fight Night V event. The fight will be the professional fight debut for both Wood and Raio. Fight Night V is scheduled to take place on November 17, 2012 at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee in Lewiston, Maine.
"Over the course of the past year, John Raio and Ray Wood have been the standouts of the NEF amateur ranks," stated NEF co-owner and promoter Nick DiSalvo. "They are probably our two most popular fighters with the fans. I can think of no better way to end our inaugural year as a promotion than with a bout of this magnitude. This is the number three-ranked amateur featherweight in the Northeast [Wood] facing the number ten-ranked amateur featherweight [Raio]. This fight will set the stage for the NEF pro 145-pound division in 2013."
October 7, 2012
Lewiston, Maine (October 7, 2012) – New England Fights! (NEF) is proud to announce the addition of a lightweight bout to its Fight Night V card between Bruce Boyington (3-3) and John Ortolani (6-6). Fight Night V is scheduled to take place on November 17, 2012 at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee in Lewiston, Maine.
"This is a really exciting bout and we're overjoyed to have added it to an already-solid pro card," stated NEF co-owner and promoter Nick DiSalvo. "Bruce Boyington is one of the most popular of the NEF regulars. John Ortolani has a huge fan base that travels to every corner of New England to watch him fight. The crowd is going to be on fire when this fight goes off on November 17!"
Bruce Boyington, who trains out of Young's MMA in Brewer, Maine, rose to international stardom with a Taekwondo spin kick knockout of Keegan Hornstra on June 16 in Lewiston. That knockout subsequently aired on national cable television outlet AXS TV's "Inside MMA" show. Within days, videos of the knock-out had gone viral on social media. To date, it has over 200,000 views on the NEF and AXS TV Youtube pages.

Vince Lucero vs Dave Bautista. Courtesty of CrossfaceProductions |
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (Oct. 5, 2012) – Forgive Vince Lucero if he’s a bit star-struck at the idea of facing former six-time World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) champion Dave Bautista tomorrow night in front of a worldwide Pay Per View audience.
Even his own kids are in awe of the 6-foot-6, 265-pound giant known throughout the world for his death-defying moves inside the squared circle.
“When I told them I was fighting Bautista, they didn’t say, ‘Good luck, dad!’ They asked, ‘Can you get his autograph?’” joked Lucero at Friday’s pre-fight weigh-in at the Providence Downtown Marriott Hotel. “The guy is a freakin’ monster, but how do you say no to this fight? This is what I’ll be remembered for, so I need to leave it all in the cage.”
October 5, 2012

Cage Titans, Mike Polvere and company have been very busy working on not one fight card but two fight cards!! Their first show will be on October 20th, 2012 at the Plymouth Memorial Hall. Last show they sold out so I suggest you all get your tickets early because you will not want to miss this show. Then just a few weeks later they will be having another Cage Titans Show on November 10th which will be held at the Local 103 Union Hall. As always support the fighters and get the tickets from them! Mike Polvere has hooked us up with the full fight card and even gave us the scoop on some fights in the works and all set for the November 10th show. I can tell you one thing folks, it is going to be a very busy few MMA months coming up. Let's hope we all get December to relax a little!! I know Brandie Light will be going nuts in the next few months with all the paperwork!! Here is how the cards are shaping up below. As always these are up to date as of today and as we all know things can change dramatically as the date gets close but I gotta say Cage Titans has a remarkable closing record and they lose about zero fights due to lack of medicals! Remarkable.

Lewiston, Maine (October 1, 2012) – New England Fights! (NEF) is proud to announce the return of one of its most popular fighters, Brent Dillingham (3-0), at the promotion's Fight Night V event. Entitled "Night of Champions," Fight Night V is set to take place on November 17 at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee in Dillingham's hometown of Lewiston, Maine.
"Whether it was justified or not, Brent has served his suspension and NEF is thrilled to have him back," stated NEF co-owner and promoter Nick DiSalvo. "His family, friends, and many fans are chomping at the bit to see Brent back in the cage. And they'll finally have that opportunity on November 17."
The suspension, noted by DiSalvo, stemmed from an incident following Dillingham’s last bout at Fight Night III back in June. That night, Dillingham emerged victorious over opponent Crowsneck Boutin (0-2). The flames having already been stoked by a confrontation a day earlier at weigh-ins, Dillingham and Boutin continued to argue post-fight, having to be separated by officials and their respective corner men. Yet the Combat Sports Authority of Maine ("CSAM"), the regulatory body of mixed martial arts events in the state, chose to suspend Dillingham for actions that took place in the locker room immediately proceeding the fight outside of the public view. Dillingham was accused of inciting a heated confrontation in the post-fight medical examination area.
