EWER TO RETURN FOR WELTERWEIGHT TUSSLE WITH RAY AT NEF 45

CJ Ewer

[NEF PRESS RELEASE]

Portland, Maine (October 18, 2021) – New England Fights (NEF) returns with its next mixed-martial-arts (MMA) event, “NEF 45: Uprising,” on Friday, November 5, 2021, at Aura in Portland, Maine.  Earlier today, NEF announced the addition of a professional welterweight bout to the fight card.  CJ “The Albino Rhino” Ewer (3-3) will face Shaun Ray (2-1) at a fight weight of 170 pounds.

CJ Ewer will make his return to the NEF cage after an absence of nearly three years.  The former NEF Professional Middleweight Champion, Ewer will look to end a three-fight skid that started in February 2018.  He is a lifelong wrestler and competed for the University of Southern Maine prior to training in MMA.  Ewer has also served his country as a member of the United States Air Force security forces.  He currently represents Thunderpig Boxing based in Brewer, Maine.

“First off, I want to say how much I appreciate the NEF giving me a chance to fight after two years away,” said Ewer. “With my last few fights I was not having fun with MMA anymore and it felt like a grind, and that’s the way I fought. After being away, I’ve missed it. I want to do it now rather than feeling like I have to. For my training, I’ve been working with Levi Sewall and Thunderpig boxing club and with Ricky Dexter, who have both been fantastic with working around my crazy schedule. The focus is on having fun and enjoying it, which has made me ten times more motivated. I feel like November 5th you are going to see a new Albino Rhino!”
