WNXFA VIII 2/21/2014 Event Review

We made the venture out to Boxborough Mass to cover the 8th installment of Warrior Nation.  This one is in a new venue but they have had other mma events there in the past and it is a beautiful place.  After we walked into the Holiday Inn and found our seats the cage is set up in the center.  For vendors I see BadAss Incorporated and a place where Warrior Nation is selling shirts and fight posters.  The Hu Ke Lau had limited space where Warrior Nation normally has their event so there weren't many vendors there selling merchandise.  John Vena is the host for the evening.  The exquisite Warrior Nation Ring Girls are in attendance and ready to strut their stuff.  There are many familiar faces in attendance, so far I have seen Billy Rondan from Mass MMA, Nick Newell, Jon Manley, Jeff Haddad, Este Lara, Michael Strazzere, The Heavily Medicated Zack Lynch, Derek Constable, Luis Felix, Matt Tullos, Nader(not Ralph), Nate Andrews, Matt Bessette, NEF Champ Mikey Z, Slippery Pete!, Miss Brandie Light the Princess, Justin Torrey, Dave Ginsberg and Jorge Rivera.  There was one fight that dropped off so they are down to 14 total in which 3 of them are professional fights.  I really like how they have the lights set up overhead and its fenced off so it looks professional like a UFC show.  Jesse Camp does not mess around with quality.  The refs tonight are Paul Asimar and Gary Evelin. Kathryn Winston is starting us off with the national anthem.  The fights are about to start so follow along and write us some comments.

WNXFA Fight Video: Joe Leonard vs. Chris Walker

Here is the first fight from Warrior Nation XFA VI between Joe Leonard and Chris Walker.  Not only was Joe, setting up the video crew earlier that day but he was also the first fight of the evening.  A couple of things to point out about this fight.  First thing is Chris Walker steps into the cage and gives a cutting of the throat action which is down right hilarious.  Second thing is this is the commentating debut of Jeff Emil Haddad and Este Lara.  They did a fantastic job and this was an awesome fight by both fighters. Stay tuned as Warrior Nation will be launching more videos very shortly.

WNXFA VI 7/19/2013 Event Review

We are here all set for the fights to start.  The fights should be starting tentatively at 7pm.  John Vena will be the host for the evening.  Jesse Camp is running around like a madman.  That means that it is almost show time.  The Warrior Nation girls are looking great as usual.  WNXFA has the best intro to a show in my opinion.  DJ Arianna is warming up the crowd with her mad dj skillz. Warchild is all set to take photos for us.  The crowd is starting to fill in and I am going to go get some Polynesian food and wait for the fights to start.  If you haven't yet please support WNXFA by liking their fanpage here.  The show is sold out and Kathryn Winston just sang the national anthem.  She did an amazing job and just 16 years old.  Please support her by liking her fanpage and her youtube. Warrior Nation VI 7/19/2013 Teaser

Warrior Nation returns to the Hu Ke Lau in Chicopee Mass this Friday July 19th.  The card is set and has 8 fights total with 2 of them being pro.  Jesse Camp and the rest of Warrior Nation have done a fine job and from looking at the card, I can tell you this is going to be a good one.  Tickets are on sale by visiting here and clicking on the tickets link.  The Hu Ke Lau is a great venue to see the fights.  There isn't a bad seat in the house and no matter where you are you can be served drinks along with Polynesian food while watching the carnage in the cage.  Warrior Nation has promised to have Nick Blais, the magician in the house and before the event DJ Arianna will spin some tunes.  Maybe the magician will make Jesse Camp disappear?!?  We will find out this Friday.  Let me break down the fight card for you.

Warrior Nation Releases The Fight Card For July 19th Show

Warrior is set to return on July 19th, 2013 at the famous Hu Ke Lau in Chicopee Mass.  Warrior Nation has added Matt Bessette to help along with the match making for their sixth installment.  The card contains 9 fights total with 3 pro fights.  Tickets can be found by visiting the link here or from your favorite fighter! Warrior Nation also announced their Ultimate Summer Ticket Prize Raffle featuring 2 UFC Boston tickets ($650 value).  2nd Prize is $200 and 3rd Prize is $100.  Only 300 tickets total will be sold.  Raffle tickets are 1 for $10 or 3 for $20.  Drawing will be held on Saturday August 3rd unless all tickets will be sold by Warrior Nation's event.  If they are, they will be drawn live at the show and of course you don't have to be present to win.  Get your tickets from the man Jesse Camp himself for the raffle.  I got a good feeling that the raffle tickets will be sold by the end of Warrior Nation's show.  As for the fight card folks, it is a well matched one.  The three pro fights are going to be awesome.  Taylor Trahan is making big waves and he is facing Addison O'Neil who will be making his pro debut.  Warrior Nation fans will remember Addison's KO in just a mere 13 seconds.  Also on the pro card is Dave Marfone who also had a knockout in the Warrior Nation cage.  The rest of the fight card is found below....

Warrior Nation VI Postponed

On Monday, March 18th, 2013, Warrior Nation X.F.A. President, Jesse Camp, officially made the decision to postpone the Pro-Am MMA event scheduled for Friday April 5th, 2013.  Set to run out of the promotion’s home base venue, the Hu Ke Lau Showroom, Camp cited card-fallout issues being the main factor with fighter injuries, schedule conflicts, and basic licensing hang-ups.  While matchmaking is understood to be the most difficult task in planning any mma event, Camp states that “this card in particular proved to be consistently problematic.”

WNXFA Fight Videos: Zach Ordoyne and No one? Victorious

Warrior Nation is finishing up some more fights from their IV installment.  This one is between Team Ravenous's very own Zach Ordoyne against Curtis Watkins.  This was a great back and forth fight and I had it tied up going into the 3rd round.

Then we have the battle between Nhel Theam and Allen Edgecomb.  This was going to be a war until an accidental eye poke which resulted in a No Contest.  Don't worry they both battled it out on Warrior Nation V and it was a real close battle.  We will see that fight early next year on video.  For now enjoy this first installment.

Thanksgiving Double Feature!

When you are done stuffing your face, sit back and watch these two great fights.  First one is fight of the year   nomination for sure against Ryan Sanders and Jarod Lawton.  In fact this could be submission of the year nomination as well!

Then we have a fight from Warrior Nation IV between Josh Mellen and Roger Zapata.  You can't really tell from the angle of the fight but the slam actually broke the boards on the mat.  They were repaired later for fighter safety.

 The Boss and I arrived around 6:30 and the place is starting to fill up.  Zack Lynch from MMAPhotography.com is here.  DJ Arianna is warming up the crowd with some beats.  The Artist and FCAT are here to film for Warrior Nation.  The show is about to start and Lexi is singing the national anthem.  Awesome job.  John Vena is our host for the evening.  The Warrior Nation Girls are making their rounds around the cage.  There is a 50/50 raffle going on where donations go to the Wounded Warrior Project.  Notorious Nick Newell, Jon Manley, Hype, Jeff Haddad, Marco Alvan, Ricardo Funch and Leon Davis are here. Warrior Nation V 11/9/2012 Teaser

Warrior Nation is set for their fifth show that will take place this Friday on November 9th, 2012 at the Hu Ke Lau in Chicopee Mass.  For those of you who have never been there, it is a unique experience.  You get to eat Polynesian food which is served to you at your table while you watch the melee in the cage.  It is like every seat is the same as flying first class!!  There will be 9 fights for the evening and since the card was released only one has been scratched.  The Theo Desjardin vs. Anthony 'Skwirl' Carmenatty one had to get scratched due to injury.  It was unfortunate and it is like that rematch is doomed to never happen!  One of these days Jesse!  Jesse Camp and Tom Gomes go above and beyond to put on an awesome show and it shows.  Tickets are still on sale and will be available at the door, I believe.  I would not recommend waiting to the last minute because this show may just very well sell out.  Well let me break down the fights for you...

Warrior Nation Releases Fight Card for Warrior Nation V

Warrior Nation has been working hard on the fight card for their upcoming show on Friday, November 9th, 2012. They return to the Hu Ke Lau Showroom in Chicopee Mass and Jesse Camp has worked double duty on this one as promoter and matchmaker. You can get a night full of solid fights, great Polynesian food, full drink menu and watch the gorgeous Warrior Nation Girls all on the same night and in fact, all at once if you want! Jesse Camp told me "We've put a lot of hard work into Warrior Nation over the last 2 years and have seen the growth. I put everything I've got in to this last show for 2012 and you won't want to miss it!" Tickets are available here and of course, tickets are available from the fighters which I recommend. I am not going to break down the fight card in this article but I will tell you the 3 Pro fights are great matchups and they also have a rematch of the Allen Edgecomb vs. Nhel Theam.  For those who weren't at the last show, the last fight resulted in a No Contest due to an accidental eye poke.  Without further adieu here is the fight card...

Warrior Nation IV 8/24/2012 Review

It is fight day folks.  I am going to do the live play by play in this post so keep checking.  The weigh ins went great and everyone made weight.  There were a few fight changes since my teaser.  Richard Hunter vs Addison O'Neil was added and Theo Desjardin vs. Anthony Carmenatty fight had to be postponed due to a small medical issue and couldn't be cleared through the commission.  That is the bad news, the good news is they have agreed to fight on the next Warrior Nation 5 card which is tentatively scheduled November 17th so mark your calendars.  The fight card is found below so do what you will with it and print out your own copy so you can have it at the show and we will see you there.  I believe doors open at 6pm and fights start 6:30-7pm.

We are here now and it is 6:40pm.  There is a lovely DJ Arianna spinning some beats for the crowd as we the fans pile in and wait for the fights to begin.  Warchild will be taking photos for us and of course I will be doing the live play by play.  I saw MMA Superfriends Matt Bessette and Nick Newell in the cage at the beginning of the show. Doomsday, Jeff Watts, Leon Davis and Old School are also in attendance!! Even Cage Titan Goddess (or Diva) Brandie Light was in attendance. Mr. Zack Lynch came as the photographer all the way from NY!! The national anthem has been sung and the fights are about to begin.
