Portland, Maine (June 24, 2022) – New England Fights (NEF) returns with its next mixed-martial-arts (MMA) event “NEF 48: Heatwave” on Saturday, July 30, 2022, at the Rink at Thompson’s Point in Portland, Maine.  The event will be NEF’s first outdoor event since “NEF 8” in 2013.  Earlier today, the fight promotion announced the addition of an amateur featherweight bout to the card.  Will Smith (0-1) will take on Evrit Roy (0-0) at a weight of 145 pounds.

 Will Smith made his MMA debut at “NEF 46” last February in a losing effort to Mike Jolicoeur (1-1).  Smith is a decorated wrestler.  He won a New Hampshire state championship in 2010. 

 “I’m going to march forward with a violent mentality,” stated Smith.  “Simple as that. Living by the motto ‘Sine Metu’ (without fear).”
