Warchild and I made the 2.5 hour drive up North and visited the neighborhood Subway before meandering our way over to the Portland Expo. This will be Toe 2 Toe's third installment of fights and it has 12 fights total. The last six fight of the night will be all professional fights and the last one is a title fight between Ryan Sanders and Lucas Cruz. Toe 2 Toe had a band playing before the event and they were playing lots of old rock songs that I used to listen to in the 90's which was pretty cool for an old guy like me! Brett Raio, son of John Raio sang the national anthem to kick the night off. The refs are John English and Kevin MacDonald. Follow along with us as we recap the night.

Toe 2 Toe returns this Saturday October 3rd, 2015 at the Portland Expo. This will be their 3rd event and they are going to have a memorable card. Right now on the card there are 12 fights total in which 6 of them are pro. Also on the card are 3 female fights which has to be some kind of a record if they can pull it off! The main event is a title fight between THE Ryan Sanders and Lucas Cruz which is sure to be fight of the night contender. I am also excited to see John Fain fight against J.A. Dudley and also one of my other favorite fighters Buck Pineau that night in the cage. The first fight starts at 6:30pm so plan accordingly. Let me break down the fight card for you all.

[Toe 2 Toe Fights Press Release]
PORTLAND, ME (September 27, 2015) – Portland, Maine’s most popular fighter returns to the Toe 2 Toe cage October 3rd to face Gracie Tampa fighter Terry Janoski in his professional debut. A caretaker to the mentally and physically disabled, Buck Pineau breaks the mold of your stereotypical Mixed martial arts fighter. Pineau has the heart of gold both as a father of two and a third shift CT worker but posses the ability to shed the latter to put on the face of a warrior once he steps into the cage. Armed with elbows, knee’s, and fists of chiseled armor he’s earned through hours of preparation for just mere minutes in a cage, Portland’s own is humble to his own prowess.
“I am really excited for this fight with Terry! I am very appreciative that he took this fight! I’m grateful for this opportunity to get back into the Toe 2 Toe cage and showcase the skills I feel I have yet to put on display...” Says Pineau
A gifted striker, Pineau is fully in tune with his 6’1” frame and has the ability to use every inch of reach to his advantage with brutal strikes and quick combinations that make him a severe threat on the feet.

PORTLAND, ME (AUGUST 23,2015) – As both Michael Cora and Andrew Tripp venture into their first professional bout together the two welterweight phenoms will have to first say good-bye to the amateur ranks they’ve built and owned for the past three years. The two welterweight stand-outs have already begun to exchange pleasantries.
Andrew Tripp (9-1 amateur, 5 Sub) of Biddeford, Maine has been extremely dominant in the New England MMA circuit filled with tough welterweights. “I haven’t ran into many guys that can hang with me in the cage” says Tripp. “Cora comes from a super tough team in Florida, so I’m praying he comes ready for a fight people will talk about.”
The Team Irish product has been measured as a ground specialist but admits he’s been working his striking quite a bit for his first professional bout. “My striking is coming a long, long way from where it started. Working with Buck Pineau has been phenomenal and I’m going to show how dominant my hands, feet, elbows, and knee’s can be in October. I’ve been known as a wrestler and I’m sure Cora is probably preparing for that. I just hope his jaw is ready for my shin too!”

[TOE 2 TOE FIGHTS PRESS RELEASE]
PORTLAND, ME (September 1, 2015) – Make room for the big boys! Toe2Toe Fights is pleased to announce a heavyweight-featured bout.
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt and Boston BJJ NH owner John Fain (1-0, 1 Submission) of Nashua NH is a life long martial artist. The former standout high school wrestler turned BJJ expert has been the head of New Hampshire’s most dynamic MMA team for almost a decade. Producing multiple New England champions and veterans of the big stage, The 2014 New England MMA “Coach of the Year” (Fain) will take to the cage himself for just the second time.
“I want to fight more, However, I feel selfish gearing training around my needs when I have so many young fighters with incredible potential always in camp. I’m training in off hours for this fight.” Says Fain.
“I’m excited to fight a big guy that can strike and has some Jiu-Jitsu. If I get my hands on him, He wont make it out of the first round. I respect anyone that gets in the cage, and he clearly has many more fights than me but I’m not new to martial arts or fighting. I’ll be prepared for anything he can throw at me.”

We are here at the show and the venue is packed. It is a nice beautiful day in Maine of 54 degrees and it is a great night for fights. There is a total of 11 fights on the card tonight. As soon as we walked in we see Prime Athletics selling their gear. All the media guys made it out and I found my spot next to the timekeeper Matt Douglas. Kevin MacDonald is the referee for the night. Kelly MacDonald is their photographer of the night and we have Joe Leonard behind our camera. The Portland Expo is has 4 big screens showing the action with replays so there is not way the fight fans can't see what is happening. The national anthem has been sung now onto some fights!

Toe 2 Toe returns for their second show of the promotion. The show will take place this Saturday on May 9th, 2015 at the Portland Expo in Portland Maine. They had some fights drop off but there is a total of 11 fights on the card with 4 of them being pro. The doors will be opening up at 5pm and the show should start around 6pm. Tickets are still available at the link here and start at $36. On the card is Maine's Ryan Sanders against Regiclaudio Kexada and the main event is Bill Jones against Vincent McGuinness. We attended their last event and it was a great venue to watch fights in and the crowd was into the fights. Let me break down the card for you and keep in mind this most likely will not be the final fight order. I will do the best I can with their records/weights and teams as the cards online are all over the place.

We arrived at the Portland Expo and quickly found our spots. The press table was right next up to the cage which was awesome. Mark Oliveri is handling the sounds for the evening. This is Toe 2 Toe's inaugural event so we are anxious to see how they do. The fight card features 11 fights in which 5 of them are professional ones. There are 4 screens around the venue which helps the fans see the show at all times. This is the first mma show up in Maine that will be live streamed on http://www.wcsh6.com/ which is really awesome for fight fans who are stuck at home with their little ones and can't make it out to the show. Let's get on with the fights!
