[NEF PRESS RELEASE]
Auburn, Maine (April 15, 2022) – New England Fights (NEF) returns with its next mixed-martial-arts (MMA) event “NEF 47: The Battle of L/A” on Saturday, May 14, 2022, at the Norway Savings Bank Arena in Auburn, Maine. Earlier today, the fight promotion announced the addition of a professional catchweight bout to the card. Nate “Backpack” Boucher (0-1) will meet David Juliano (1-0) at a fight weight of 130 pounds.
Nate Boucher will make his return to the NEF cage after losing his professional debut to Chris Caterino (4-3) at “NEF 42” in February 2020. Prior to that loss, Boucher had been on a four-fight win streak in the amateur ranks where he had an overall record of 6-3. He captured the NEF Amateur Flyweight Title with a first-round submission of Steve Desjardins (5-4) at “NEF 41.” Boucher wrestled for Mountain Valley High School in Rumford, Maine before competing in MMA. He currently represents Central Maine Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (CMBJJ) based in Lewiston. This will be Boucher’s first fight since the passing of his mentor and cornerman Jesse Peterson (8-4) last month.
